Coding Parking control Unit?

Post by space » Thu Apr 13, 2017 12:00 pm

Hi my front and rear parking sensors were broken on my 2008 E82 120d when I bought the car, the PDC unit was swimming in water and finished so I replaced with a unit with the same part number off ebay but they are still not working. Display warning light now comes on and front sensor button flashes!

I can test the rear sensors by putting my ear to the sensors and can hear all 4 are clicking but how can I test the front sensors?

Do I need my new PDC unit coded ?

I'd say the unit is either faulty as well or needs coding to the car.

I have tried 2 different PDC units and both dont get them working

How hard is it to do the coding? What will I need?

I used to have INPA ages ago when I had a 1 series been some time since. Cant find the cable I had either

Got these Fualt codes using Carly lite:

Park Distance Control / PDC:
- Fault: Transformer lines VL
- Code: 009E37
- Fault: Converter cable VMR
- Code: 009E3A
- Fault: Converter cable VR
- Code: 009E38
- Fault: VML converter cable
- Code: 009E39

Not sure how much I trust a free diagnostics though.

Update just checked had front bumper off and loom was damaged! repaired it but still not working!
