Window Tints

Post by deanw » Tue Jan 23, 2018 4:10 pm

Hi Guys,

We are speccing a new lease car and the privacy glass is taking us over the 40k value and taking the P11D into the next bracket. Which is making privacy Glass go from £6 a month to £22 a month.

So my question is..

Whats the deal with after market tints? are they no different than a factory tint? finish as nice etc?

Thanks

Hi Dean

We've had four vehicles tinted over the past six years including 1 series coupe, 2 series Active Tourer and now our MB AMG GLA45 however all by the same company irrespective of factory finished glass as we both find it's not dark enough. Normally medium tint to rear, side windows, sun strip on front screen and security screen to front driver and passenger windows, average around £350 to give you an idea.

When I bought my M240i I could not spec the privacy glass as it was clashing with another option I already had. I now have after market tints and find no issues with look or quality.

Does it have the white bits round the window or is it all black, I'm looking to get this done soon also if it's all black with no white bits shown.

That was my Active Tourer which we'd had tint applied including the windscreen strip which I'd advise because of the total depth it really did make a big difference and definitely no white bits at all.

Cheers Dorserted, looks the ticket. I will wait until just before the summer before I get this done.

If done properly, you can even tell if its "factory" put on or not. I think it makes any car look so much better but for that price, it's a no-brainer to get them done after. Lucky to have 2 great places near where i live.
