Is 2 Series Active Tourer a joint venture with Kia? It's a serious question based on how similar both cars look

Congrats on the new car. Pictures of the AT don't do it justice for some reason. We saw one at the dealership and it is a really good looking car.

Got a boot liner and some dark mats for up front to replace the beige carpets today.

Another nice feature on our spec appreciated today - reversing camera for lazy people like me. It's located beside the boot handle which makes it quite high up and gives a great view when reversing out of tight spaces. It also does not suffer from dirt kicked up from the rears.

Also, no more problems with the rear windscreen being constantly muddied by spray from the rears either. Having the rear wiper hidden at the top of the tailgate is also good placement for shifting water and along with the high brake light fitted to the top spoiler makes for a noticeably better rear view in the mirror compared to the 1 series.

One annoying point is that the wing mirrors are set quite far back due to the pillars means you have to really swing your head to see the passenger side mirror and the drivers side seems a bit cramped to look in at times.

An MPV with a BMW badge, might as well buy a Vauxhall Zafira and save a load of cash! Sorry but don't get it.

I know the MINI is not everyone's cup of coffee (see what I did there) but it's different, unique, fun and characterful. Although I hated my 116i I still love BMWs and will prob have another at some point. To me a front wheel drive MPV with a BMW badge is sad day!

I don't get why they called it the 2 series AT why not the 1. I thought the even number BMW's were the sporty ones.

Yeah is a bit weird. I just think it's a shame. A BMW is something to aspire too, to work towards and be proud of. The MPV type car is just 100% for a practical purpose, bland and unimaginative. BMW as a brand should not be diluted with such models. Just my personal opinion.

It's an odd one. I think the branding and marketing departments were at different cafes in Amsterdam when this was being thought of from a naming perspective. It looks a brilliant car though that still apparently drives dynamically.

Well done on the new auto, looks great!

For all intents and purposes ensured that I'll be requesting one of these next May, yet in M Sport trim so anticipating listening to how you get on with it..
