Many thanks it was an obvious choice really with Estoril Blue and our previous 118d Coupe had the same trim so it was a no-brainer really as it's a good contrast breaking up the black leather.

looks like a great car glad you're pleased with it! only thing i dislike is the naming but thats BMW's decision!

Regarding the fwd v rwd debate - what on earth would be the point in making an mpv rwd? 99.9% of owners couldn't even tell you the difference let alone notice it whilst driving. No one buys a 2AT to throw at track days and hairpins, therefore make it FWD and give it a bigger boot, which is what is important in this class of car. If you want something for cornering and tracks buy a suitable car for the purpose.

My friend has a 116i, i currently have a 116d for a short time longer, sure they're fun and you can make the tail wiggle or whatever but they cant even keep up with a 3.0d range rover! I'm under no illusion it's not the real deal and there is some real grunt missing - hence my m135i arrives in a month.

It's a cracking looking car and a good direct replacement for my wife's (old box shape) Merc A160, I wonder if they'll drop the X1 now?

I'm holding out for an extended range version (250+ miles) of the i3 to replace the Merc, though.

Cars much better looking than I thought- well done you! Not sure Id be impressed with the MPG though.

42MPG from a 218d over that distance? Doesn't sound great!

Ben

As I pointed out originally I was not hanging about and wanted to check it out fully before leaving UK.

Generally I average 70mph although on this trip I went a bit crazy and performance was outstanding

Thank you for your comment, check out this information on the BMW Blog site, although it's a USA site I've emailed them before now regarding the Xmas Accessories which haven't appeared as yet!

Hah, you need to see the F48 X1 and 2AT side-by-side to tell the difference!

No RWD only option though, when will those marketing numbskulls realise that most of us buy BMWs for the RWD!

I think it looks great. The "drivers car" comments are utter drivel. How many 116i drivers take advantage of the RWD set up? You'd be driving round illegally like a dick to fulfil this... The 2at has no need to be rwd. The interior is excellent too! For the type of car it is an excellent choice.
I never wanted to believe that my Dad was stealing from his job as a road worker. But when I got home, all the signs were there.

Well, I for one am pleased we (I mean she) decided on the blue... It's a beaut. The interior for us will be saddle brown, which I think - bearing in mind my propensity for a blue suit and brown leather - is not a bad choice. I am a bit nervous, mind... :D
Current - MY17 F45 225xe iPerformance M Sport Active Tourer in Estoril Blue with a Saddle Brown interior. Arrived 7th March.

Looks extremely pleasant OP, was exceptionally enticed by the 218i AT however chose to move far from the brand at last.

Any pics of the inside. Have just sat in a game and was inspired with the quality looked at the new 1er.
