Well after months of deliberating over what car to get next I finally decided on the M140i and thanks to everyone on the forum as gave me a great insight into ownership before pulling the trigger.

After a trip to the worse than useless local dealer who was only interested in selling a pre reg car I contacted TRL who I can honestly say provided the best car buying experience ever not to mention offering haggle free great deals.

I always end up modding my cars so made sense to consider the Motech and after getting a look (and listen) to #003 in the flesh my mind was made up.

The first week of ownership has been great (apart from getting done for speeding before I'd even got home😩). It's all the car I'd hoped for.

Anyway, here's the pics......

Thanks for the positive comments!

In terms of warranty, there's lots of talk on here about it already but my personal view is that if any BMW parts break I'll contact BMW and if any of the parts fitted by Motech break I'll contact Motech.

As I mentioned most of my cars have been modded and always been during the warranty period and never had any problems on the few occasions I've mate warranty claims including a clutch on a BMW as they were happy to admit it was due to uneven wear.

At the end of the day the dealers are paid by the manufacturer for warranty claims so it's in the dealers best interest to fix them.

I'm more than happy with the work Motech have done and haven't heard a bad word about them so if your already thinking about it I'd say just go for it. You'll not regret it!

Car looks great, pretty much what I'm considering changing my Estoril blue, 3 door m135i for soon

I take it you did have an MPE before and now have the Remus exhaust? Comparison?

Also did you declare the Motech bits and exhaust on your insurance? Much of a jump?

Ordered the car as it is so picked it up from TRL new with the Remus. Never had an MPE, just a total coincidence that I was allocated that plate.

More than happy with the Remus though, would definitely recommend it.

Declared all mods to insurance that's with Chris Knott that advertise on here (would recommend them too) and I'm paying about the same as I did on my previous 335D which was lowered with different wheels with admiral.

Ha, that's funny about the plate, could possibly make some money off of that!

Thanks for the info on the mods

Out of curioisity, as I am considering aquiring one through TRL myself. Was it easy to do with Chris Knott. Where they aware of the Motech edition or was it a case of just declaring each individual mod to them?

Chris Knott were absolutely spot on. They weren't aware of the Motech edition but I explained what it consisted of so they've listed the mods individually and called it a Motech edition on the policy.

The only issue I did have was that they wanted me to have owned the car for 12 months before they'd insure me (35, no points and 17 years NCB so low risk) but after checking I'd owned performance cars in the past they were happy to cover me and didn't charge any extra to add my other half on who's under 30 as she'd had experience of driving precious cars.

If your in a position to buy one I'd say go for it! It's an awesome little machine!

Sounds Promising, Did you try the normal insurer route? If so I assume it wasn't the best way to go.

I am in a position as I have one on order at the moment. Im 99% sure I want to go with the Motech Package, seems an incredible car.

I've been with admiral for as long as I can remember so Chris Knott said they'd beat their premium to get my business and they did, I did have to send proof of my admiral quote though.

Adrian Flux were a lot more and by the time you'd listed mods on comparison sites the prices were through the roof.

Tried another couple of brokers but they insisted on having a tracker.

If you've already got yours on order get it booked into Motech ASAP!!

Ok cheers, worth having a look around. I'll give chris knott a go.

Yeah as I say I have one with TRL, so I have the option of going for the package. I'm almost certain I will. Coincidently Its a very similar spec to yours but a 5 door. How do you like the black with Blue? Do you think it works well with the Mineral Grey?

I'm not normally a fan of black interiors, my last 3 BM's have had coral red just to brighten things up a bit. Was tempted by the cream after seeing Joe Achilles car but thought it might be a bit of a mare to keep clean.

As soon as Tony mentioned the blue stitching I thought I'd go for it and glad I did. Doesn't exactly brighten the place up but just gives a bit of contrast.
