Re: What Did You Do To Your 1 Series Today?

Note to E8* 1 series newbees : The handbrake (a separate drum behind the rear discs) is never going to be that great so don't trust it - always leave it in (reverse) gear when parked. Haha. Why reverse and not 1st or 2nd gear? :D It's the hardest gear to push it in, and it's more obvious to you whe...

Can't post pics via add attachment says files too large,
Yes, you need to make it smaller, try taking it down to something like 800 pixels wide.

Re: FRM1 to FRM2 or 3 HOW TO!!

I would simply replace with an FRM3 "max" (or whatever is the current "all features" version).

Be aware thaty there are several versions of FRM3 noticeably the "basis" version which will not give you some of the features that you had with your previous FRM - when it was working properly.

Re: What Did You Do To Your 1 Series Today?

I think they do look better but some of the inner ring bleeds out if that makes sense? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Have you got any small stone chips on the headlight lenses? I’ve seen a similar projection effect on them when there’s bits of damage on the front. The chips refract the light a...

No Tahiti green or metallic reds on a 2006 1 series.
Never mind, it's available on the Playstation GT game, though (well, at least on the version I have).

Re: Car colours - so dull

Well, Tahiti Green was a stock colour across the 1-series range in 2009 - but only for that year, it seems. :D

Re: Car colours - so dull

I completely agree, and I've never been a fan of the monochrome corporate look.

Still, at least mine stands out more.

Re: BMW recall

I haven't "activated" my start/stop (stop/start?) for years as it's bad for the timing chain.

It's only there to satisfy some obscure EU regulation.

Re: What Did You Do To Your 1 Series Today?

It just saves all the hassle and money in the long run to upgrade to OEM xenons (been there, done that..) in the first place. I've lost count of the number bumper off/on jobs I've done (on my car and others). Just don't do it my way :- original halogens DEPO set 1 with various sets of ring lighting ...

An Audi !!!

Did you have to sell the 1'er on, I would have just hung onto it.

My green beemer is probably the same as when you last saw it apart from changing the interior trim from boring silver to poplar grey.

All the best to wife and kid(s).

Re: Thinking of a 130i, spec an issue, what can you retrofit?

Pretty much anything E8* can be retrofitted, it's all down to the size of your budget (and I've spent thousands upgrading mine). Lights: Spec'd with OEM halogen - so, so, but looks boring and cheap Then 2 sets of DEPOs - look better, but absolute rubbish for vision (I bought a second pair thinking I...
