Ordering OEM Parts

I’ve bought in the last few days from both bmw Parklane and bmw prentice (N.Ireland) both delivered within a couple of days. [emoji1360] Are they selling parts/components or just accessories? I need 4 headlight pins, £0.40 each from a dealership or £5 each from scalpers on eBay :x Robbing gits! I b...

Re: Painting Rusty Hubs

Repeated the same job on my E90, followed the guidance of not painting the hub face. No pictures but the same as above. Went from looking sh*te to silver. It’s a nice easy rewarding job. Snapped a wheel brace getting the bolts undone (cheers previous owner!) they must have been torqued to about 190!...

What a story! Car looks awesome, congratulations. Slightly off topic, if English isn’t your first language then I doth my cap. Your command of the written form is spot on. I look forward to reading the build thread as you start to sink your money into the mods. [emoji1360][emoji1360] Sent from my iP...

Inside the door card that holds the cables for locking/door handle?

A cable tidy for want of a better name?

Re: BMW E90 320d?

Looks lovely! I think a body colour boot lid spoiler would really suit it. A retrimmed steering wheel from Royal would be a nice little quality of life upgrade too. I'd probably be shopping around for a remap too but that might be missing the point lol. The wheels on Sam's 330 look like MV3s? Thank...

I'd just double check the bolts are tight for the minute.
Will do. Thanks Marco. [emoji1360]

Re: Painting Rusty Hubs

No mounting face of any disc or any wheel ever comes painted from the factory. Lots of good reasons. The wheel bolts don't actually drive the wheels round, surprisingly. It's the friction between the two clean mounting faces. Same reason you shouldn't copper grease the face (only the spigot - if ne...

Re: Painting Rusty Hubs

Whats the reasoning behind not painting the face? is it because it has an impact on the contact surface with the wheel and compromises something?

Re: Painting Rusty Hubs

Yep - i did mine about 18 months ago. Used a wire brush, brake cleaner and hammerite smooth metal paint. don't have a pic to hand but i posted about it at the time. Nice easy job and really rewarding! I did a corner at a time and took about 30 mins each hub. Edit- found the pics https://uploads.tapa...

Re: New tyres

Not sure it invalidates insurance!? Many many owners replace run flats with normal tyres with zero reports of insurance issues after the fact. As long as you use the recommended load and speed rating you’ll be fine. What about people that buy a 10 year old car that’s may have had 5 sets of tyres sin...

BMW E90 320d?

[mention]samM140 [/mention] what wheels were on your 330? I might just crack on and find a set of those!

Any thoughts on boot lip? Yes or no? [emoji848]

Re: BMW E90 320d?

You could always transplant stuff from your coupe -folding mirrors, radio, cruise and PDC should all swap over with a small amount of effort + coding. Depending on what it would do to the coupe's value it could give you a few more cars to choose from? The only thing that I’d really miss is the xeno...

Re: Official ///M badge wa**er thread

What’s worse is that 430 was a lovely looking car until silly bolloc%s spent all his pocket money on eBay.

What an absolute waste.
