Re: Keeping my 120d alive..

The gearbox oil change really made a difference to my car when I bought it at 84000 miles. Changing the diff oil gave me a little peace of mind as well. I've now done the gearbox oil 3 times and the diff twice, no harm in keeping them lubed up nicely!

Thanks to Wibbles for helping me.

Wibbles offered to help following an issue with a xenon retrofit and power windows. Wibbles logged in remotely and diagnosed that the FRM I had bought is knackered. He really knows his stuff and I would recommend him to anyone on here. 👍

Re: Lippo's 120d SE Coupe with added BT, CC, Leather & Depo DRLs

Well there's still life in the old girl yet! I'm not quite sure why, but at 193000 miles I decided to buy some xenon's a couple of months back and managed to fit them over the weekend. They are far better than the Depo's they replaced. I have done all the coding and updated the VO with $522 and the ...

Re: Lippo's 120d SE Coupe with added BT, CC, Leather & Depo DRLs

Well, it's probably time for my annual update! The car has clocked 190900 miles so far. Still running great. I recently had the bonnet resprayed following the satellite dish incident. I am waiting for some xenon headlights that I've purchased - I'll have a go at fitting them. I should really have do...

Re: E8* Reset/Replace DPF Warning Light Due to Age.

10 minutes at Graham Martin BMW Specialists in St Helen's sorted the problem - the values were reset and no there's no warning light. This must have to be the most pointless warning light in a BMW.

E8* Reset/Replace DPF Warning Light Due to Age.

Hi, my DPF filter warning light came on the other day. there's nothing wrong with the DPF, it's just exceeded the 300000km (186000 mile) arbitrary lifetime limit imposed by BMW. I've checked the DPF on Carly and the ash mass is only 66g so it's well within tolerances. My question is, does anyone kno...

Wow, that's low mileage. At least you know they're capable of reaching the moon and back.

Re: Lippo's 120d SE Coupe with added BT, CC, Leather & Depo DRLs

A little update on the car. I've had it 6 years now and have clocked up over 172300 miles. It still feels fine, great to drive and touch wood, no issues that need sorting. I replaced the battery in February as the stop/start was getting a little sluggish unless I charged up the battery. Now I have t...

Re: LHD to RHD depo switch

Isn't there an adjuster in the unit itself? You move it up/down for LHD or RHD. No other way that I can think of.

I don't think I've ever needed to do that in the past but I don't think it'll do any harm.

Looks like Carly does do that coding. What I would do is deactivate both entries, then activate them again. See if that does anything.

Re: Advice - Battery Coding with Carly & General Coding

I don't know for definite but I would imagine that if it was coded out by accident, then it could be coded back in. I don't know how many options there are in Carly compared to NCSExpert etc but I would guess that NCSExpert has more. Have a look at 226 & 227 on the following pdf. They relate to alar...

Re: Advice - Battery Coding with Carly & General Coding

I've used DIS, NCSExpert & INPA, along with the free offerings from Carly and a few other apps, both iOS and Android. The problem with the first 3 is that it is an absolute pain to get the computer to connect with the car, and it's really difficult to find out what the problem is if it doesn't conne...

Re: Advice - Battery Coding with Carly & General Coding

I've just replaced my 8 year old battery as a precaution, it was still stop/starting and I always kept it topped up with an AGM battery charger. The AH was the same but the CCA was just 50 more. I just registered it.

How do you find Carly? Have you used anything else before, ie INPA or NCSExpert?
