Re: F20 ISOFIX front seats

Just to add that an Isofix seat isn't necessarily safer than a correctly fitted seatbelt car seat.

Re: Wiper blades for F20 LCI

A neat trick is to use Barkeepers Friend and/or try washing it using some 0000 wire wool or use one of those sharp bladed glass scrapers with plenmty of lubrication. Then follow this up with a clay bar/cloth, finally finishing with a decent glass polish, such as AG Glass Polish. I wouldn't bother wi...

Re: Wiper blades for F20 LCI

I currently have Bosch on my car and they squeak & judder. was driving me mad last night in all the rain. Tried Valeo beforehand and they were just as bad. bit lost as to what to try next. Perhaps BMW ones are the way to go, altho those are supposed to be Valeo made. £39.80 from BMW's eBay store. I...

Wiper blades for F20 LCI

Can someone confirm who manufacturers the OEM wiper blades on the F20 LCI? On the older F20 and E87 it used to be Valeo but whenever I do a search on Eurocarparts I only now get options for Bosch. Do Valeo still produce a pair of front blades for my car and if so does anyone have the model reference...

Re: Wheel alignment tool

Never bothered with the hangers, I just rest my foot under the wheel and then lift it up and slot a wheel bolt in. Same here. Wondering if you might know this Barney plus it's relevant to the Ops question, ...what torque setting should we use on the 1 series when refitting wheel bolts/nuts? ...

Wheel alignment tool

I'm going to be fitting my winter wheels myself this year and was wondering if anyone uses those wheel alignment tool thingys to make things easier to hold the wheel in place, I think they used to be called wheel hangers? If so where's best to get one from and what size fits the bolts on a F20 LCI? ...

Alloy touch up paint

Is there such a thing as genuine touch-up paint for the standard 461M alloy wheels (Not Ferric Grey) on a 2016 120d MSport?

Alloy wheel paint

I picked up a big chip on the face of one of my alloys the other day, just seen it now after washing the car. Do BMW supply touch up paint for alloys wheels and does anyone know what the paint code/colour would be for the standard silver 461M alloys on a 2016 120d MSport?

Re: EGR valve recall on all 1 series

This an old thread now but my four pennyworth I have a 118D F20 early 2016. Recently I started getting "Possible Drivetrain, OK to continue." errors on the screen. As I have to get the front pads changed I phone the dealer, Sytners Solihull and he said there is a recall on the EGR which may account...

Re: Vehicle Inspection

Most BMW dealers offer a pre-MOT inspection which is supposed to check for items that may fail an MOT. The idea is you do this sometime before your first MOT and if there is anything it can still be fixed under the existing warranty. I generally swap my cars after 3 years anyway so usually don't bot...

Re: PCP deals

PCP is not really designed for the purchase of used cars and rarely a good idea. It can work out quite expensive, especially as the APR will be much higher and you'll unlikely get much in the way of dealer/manufacturer contribution, if at all. It may even work out cheaper to actually finance a new c...
