Re: How much better are MPS4 than MPSS in cold/wet conditions?

The way some people talk you'd think that a summer tyres become death traps in cold/wet weather. [Sarcasm mode] There's this thing down by your foot called a throttle pedal, it can move about 10 inches, the more you press it the more power goes to the wheels and vice versa [/Sarcasm Mode]. Just nee...

Re: Options you regret/wouldn't pick again

You do have to trust it as it can appear like you're main-beaming the oncoming traffic but I find if you look closely you can see the right hand beam tracking wider and wider just to the right of the oncoming car until it gets too close at which point it dips. You notice it more easily with somethi...

Re: Options you regret/wouldn't pick again

I don't regret any of my options, use them all at various times. I like the park assist and have used it many times, the only thing I don't like is that you need to give it time to start/activate, so if you try and activate it just as you spot a space it doesn't have time to scan properly and get th...

Re: How much better are MPS4 than MPSS in cold/wet conditions?

In cold weather like we have now the MPSS are rubbish, but the PS4 I have on our E91 are so much better. I’ll be moving to PS4 when needed.

Re: Insuring a car on PCP

Just checked the wording for my policy with Hastings Premier and they don't seem to be too worried about who owns it, in fact none of my documents even mention who owns the car. Ownership If your claim is settled on a Total Loss basis and your Car belongs to someone else, or you’ve bought your Car b...

Re: Insuring a car on PCP

I would be careful putting lease car down. You own the car on PCP as you have the log book and are named on it, and are responsible for taxing, with a lease car the the lease company own the car and also tax the vehicle. You know how insurance companies try to get out of anything if they can. Just ...

Re: Insuring a car on PCP

I chose the "Leased" option for vehicle owner, it didn't seem to make any difference in price whichever you put down.

Re: Anyone on here?

TBH my first thought was just steam on a cold night as well, doesn't look too alarming, however it does have the drivetrain fault at the same time. Either way, it's a lease car and should still be covered by BMW so not sure why he's using it on not just phoning BMW Assist who will come and pick it u...

Re: Full Service History v Full Main Dealer Service History

I've kept our E91 with BMW, not because of resale value (as it's only worth about £4k now) but mainly as I like the service they give me and its also not much difference price wise with my local indy guys.

I get the indy guys to do bigger stuff, discs/pads etc but BMW still do the servicing.

Re: Best year to buy

I had a 57 plate E81 and it was fine, steering was good, and the updates IMO were much nicer.

But then as I wanted an E81 facelift was the only option.

Mine seems quick, less than 1-2 minutes but then I have heated seats and steering wheel which probably makes it seem quicker than it is.

Re: Loan V PCP - What am I missing here?!

There's nothing wrong with PCP providing you go in with your eyes open and work out the total cost of ownership, especially if buying outright at the end. I worked out that my 240 all told with interest, balloon payment etc etc will end up being £40k in total once I own it. The car as specced came t...

Re: Loan V PCP - What am I missing here?!

Great post and one we should all really start to consider! I love my car (a M140i) and without PCP it would be completely unobtainable to me as I'm sure it would to most of the people on here. I've been watching a program on Netflix about being mortgage free and its just made me realise how much I'...
