Re: Rattling gear stick

Mine was a 12 plate but got rid at under 15K Good plan, wouldn't want to use all the gears in the ultimate driving machine. I like BMWs and could buy another but I do think the earlier F20s were poor, ridiculous amounts of common issues. Hope you get it sorted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: BMW have let me down again!!

Tell me about it. I want the best deal, best part ex, best discount then if the monthlies are within budget I buy the car. Dealerships focus on the monthlies so they can potentially make you happy without giving maximum discount. I'm a rare customer tho and screw them for every penny lol! Sent from ...

F20 n47 engine timing chain issues

Hasn't the N47 now been replaced with the B47, I'm sure my Dads 15 plate 520D is a B47? Has the filtered down to the 1 series yet? Just interested as although my 116i was a bag of sh!te in terms of problems I may go BMW again in the future and it would be a diesel??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Rattling gear stick

Just out of interest how old are these 1 series with rattling gear sticks? I'm just surprised there is a 1 series fault I didn't experience through my ownership back in 2012/13 Pretty sure I had them all!

Re: BMW have let me down again!!

This is sometimes the problem with figures. A lot of dealers don't want you to have loads of paperwork in case you go else where and get another dealer to beat it by a few pounds. Problem is, this can then go to far in some cases where the figures aren't properly noted down and signed off. I've had ...

Re: BMW have let me down again!!

Rule one for me when buying a new car is get the figures agreed in writing.... 1. What's my car worth 2. What's my settlement 3. What's the equity +- The figures are then based around them paying the top amount of my settlement and I ensure that figure is clear on the new car order where it says "Ad...

Re: BMW have let me down again!!

If the figures on your paperwork are based on the dealership paying your full settlement and not the lower figure after you've made one more payment then you phone the dealer speak to the principle and demand they pay you whatever your monthly payment was as this may be slightly higher than the diff...

Re: New Alfa Romeo Giulia

As a newbie to Alfa I will definitely be test driving a Giulia. I just hope they do an engine which is pokey enough but without horrendous showroom tax under the new laws outlined in the last budget!

Re: Negative equity

I have a LOT of experience in this as I had a 116i Sport which I was desperate to get rid of as it was a sh*t car with loads of problems. My deal was a standard 116i Sport with sun protection glass so £21310 I got around £1300 off the car, no deposit from me. So about £20K PCP, 48 months ~£295 a mon...

Re: 2 Series Active Tourer Collected

Yeah is a bit weird. I just think it's a shame. A BMW is something to aspire too, to work towards and be proud of. The MPV type car is just 100% for a practical purpose, bland and unimaginative. BMW as a brand should not be diluted with such models. Just my personal opinion.

Re: 2 Series Active Tourer Collected

I know the MINI is not everyone's cup of coffee (see what I did there) but it's different, unique, fun and characterful. Although I hated my 116i I still love BMWs and will prob have another at some point. To me a front wheel drive MPV with a BMW badge is sad day!

Re: 2 Series Active Tourer Collected

An MPV with a BMW badge, might as well buy a Vauxhall Zafira and save a load of cash! Sorry but don't get it.

Re: PCP finance advice please...

Best advice is trade in for a new one as people have said or again buy a multipack of lube!
