Hi guys, As some of you may know i had to sell my M240i after 4 months of ownership  due to a move to the US. I have some bits from it although I am not particularly sure if they are worth anything or not. Any advice is much appreciated. 1x set of genuine mirror caps 1 x set of genuine grills 1...

Re: M140i BCS Centre Silencer Delete Pipe With Images

Unfortunately I am selling the car so the pipe will be sold separately It's covered around 1000 miles, still as new :) Looking for £250 plus postage, still have original packaging from power valve et...

If you don't think you'll be returning anytime soon you could always just stop paying the finance ;-)
Leave it in an airport car park somewhere. Bailiffs will have a job finding it for sure :)

Re: Anyone know any cash buyers ?

Yes it was somewhat unexpected but was always on the cards.

I'm actually waiting on an official quote from synter. Also have a couple of private buyers interested ... as with anything though it's a pain to go through the process.

Are you local to TRL? I could recommend a couple of the better local dealerships for service stuff...
Nah, took a flight down to TRL to pick up the car. I am up in central Scotland :)

Re: Bmw claim this is normal

Was back at the dealers this morning ... they must see me coming and think "oh here we go again".

Anyway the workshop gaffer came out, I demonstrated the noise and he has agreed there is something not quite right. So it's booked in all day Friday.

:) fingers crossed

Re: Bmw claim this is normal

he bought it from TRL. Warranty works anywhere in the UK though. In my experience its best to try another dealership if the first one cannot diagnose. invariably its down to the skill of the technician and the notes on PUMA where others have reported the same problem and found a solution. It's a cr...

Will call service department first thing tomorrow. It's just a bit of a pain not having a car while they mess about with it.

Re: Bmw claim this is normal

The last time I saw symptoms resembling those they were caused by a blocked oil pick up line in the sump causing the turbo to fail. In fact noise, white smoke and the engine power dropping so all three. Yeah this is a mechanical knock I'm getting. If I can sit in another 240 or 140 and I cannot hea...

I thought it was a little too quiet for pad knock, buts it's hard to gauge on a video.

Can you narrow it down to front or rear pads?

Noise coming from front right hand side only.

Re: Bmw claim this is normal

Sounds like the pads are a tiny bit small, or the calipers are a tiny bit big (less likely, imo). My 205 1.9 GTi did the same if purposefully reversing then going forwards. Never like that on my previous mlite. Been to BMW and they say it's suspension geometry or something like that. So do I man up...
