Re: Replacing snapped bonnet release cable

As my cable has snapped at the cable end, what is the procedure for routing a new bonnet release cable through the bulkhead? I can see the grommet in the footwell and where it appears in the engine bay, but will it just thread through from the footwell side and poke up where I can grab it? Can't ge...

Parameters to detect boost leak ?

Is it possible to identify a potential boost leak by reading some of the parameters using the Carly app? There seems to be a lot of things you can measure/monitor so wondered if it is possible?

Quote for front bumper ducting

Reg number PY06AKG.

I need the duct that sits behind the m sport bumper and runs through to the inner arch - drivers side.

Also the central duct that sits behind the lower central bumper grill/opening and directs air to the radiator.

Price each please?

Regards
Tim

Re: Probably Turbo Failure - advice?

It's definitely best practice to replace the oil feeds, I would. Yup, vortex breather can be easily washed out with a bit of detergent/carb cleaner/whatever. :) Just thinking, what's the internals made from on this filter? Assuming no foam at all? I completely submerged the housing and ran water th...

Re: Crankcase breather change

Obviously the old loo roll one is foam, but is the vortex one purely plastic? Can't quite visualise how it 'filters' without the foam!

I completely washed mine out the other day so just checking no damage can be done to the bits you can't see inside by washing it?

Re: Probably Turbo Failure - advice?

I cleaned out the breather today. It wasn't blocked and I was relieved to find the vortex type (Would had been really annoyed if it was the loo roll one & blocked as I never checked before! ) Cars going to the garage on Friday so I think I'll order the turbo from Essex Turbo along with the new oil f...

Re: Probably Turbo Failure - advice?

Ok so did some investigation today. Got the following video of the movement of the shaft. Would you say this is excessive?

That line around the outside, should that be there or might that be from the blades fouling?

Re: Probably Turbo Failure - advice?

So Turbo replacement ... Is it necessary to replace the oil feed and return pipes? Or is it acceptable to clean them out? Does this depend on 'how' the turbo has failed?

Iirc the oil breather/ separator can be cleaned as long as it is the vortex type?
