Once it’s all together and working I’ll be sure to detail exactly what I’ve done and the alignment settings.

Re: Matt’s Road & Track m140

Wheel spacing is going to be key, you're going to want the 255 tyre almost brushing the damper. Minimal clearance, in order to get the LCA's on as well. Can't wait to see her finished. You and me both mate! :D Yeah you’re right, smallest spacer necessary to avoid contact on the inside and ...

Re: The trouble with traction

The lack of traction with my winter tyres at the moment is amusing ... as it gets above 12c I can almost feel the tread disappearing ! Floaty is not the word for it ... but then when it gets cold again they feel great. I knew investing in winter tyres would guarantee warm weather ! Using the fully ...

Re: Grinding/scrapey noise from brakes?

Sounds like stones caught between brake disc and backing plate. Driven up any gravel driveways recently ? Nope, I didn't. If it would be a stone, wouldn't you expect to hear it continuously? And how can I get it out? :) Not necessarily. Sometimes, reversing a fair distance can dislodge them else it...

I guess my main question right now is that am I going to get better overall traction / grip going for stock tyre sizes but in the PS4 tyres or will the larger MPSS sizes (245/35 front and 255/35 rear) be preferable?

Re: M140i & M4 Comparison vid

Matt,

Good comparo vlog. Yr comments about mlite front end is exactly why I chose to fit F8x LCA and TS onto my M135I.

Re: Birds or Motech

1- the Birds at £1562 fitted (I wonder if that includes alignment as well?) This does not include alignment. When asked about alignment, they said “it doesn’t need it” Make your own mind up about that statement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Hmm, they told me it did. Will double check. FWI...

Re: Knocking after fitting 461 alloys

Rear wheel fitted to the front? I’ve got 245/35/18 fitted on the front and rear is 225/40/18 As the others have said, you've fitted the wider rear wheels to the front then. The wheel is probably rubbing on the struts/tension arm. 8" wide rear wheel mounted up front will cause a clash between strut ...

Front
Is knocking constant or varies with speed or does it occur randomly ?

Have you jacked the car up and spun the wheels to check there's nothing catching ie balance weight clipping brake caliper etc ?
