Re: F40 Winter Wheels?

F40 are 18” x 8” et 57mm all round.

Same sizes as F45/46 2 series fwd tourers so I’d say aim at 18” used set off ebay perhaps

A chap at work actually said to me after I had borrowed an M4C for the weekend that he was alongside one in his 435D yes a fecking diesel and the M4C wasn't getting away from him, FFS.
🤔🤔🤔
Runway drag (standing start or a roll) or around a circuit - m4c would drive away from a 435d all day long

What if you have an LSD fitted?
My car had QLSD fitted, reacted quicker than but complimented e-diff braking on both rear wheels in low grip situations.

Current car - M2 with oem m diff - is very capable in icy/snowy roads with mpa4 tyres and bag of gravel strapped down in the boot !

Re: Winter tyres yes or no?

- I have gone "square" 225/40 (all round) and find the rears to be more than adequate in low grip conditions - the rear will wag more if you let it versus the summer set-up but its very well telegraphed and always feels safe. i.e. if you go over the level of grip the rears offer then it is very pro...

Re: Another JB4 Q

I have been offered a relatively cheap Jb4 EWG for my m135i however I think the car I have is a PWG (car production month 05/2013) Will the Jb4 still work or would I have to buy a PWG one? Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It will still work provided the jb4 harness has all its o...

Re: Acoustic Shield Recall

I've upgraded the amp in my car, it sits on top of the HK one. Is this going to be a problem if they try to fit the shield? It might be. Mines due in for winter wheel swap end Nov, and the dealer said the acoustic shield retrofit will be done at the same time. I’m removing my match up 7 amp and ASD...

Re: Looking to remap a stock M2 - thinking of bootmod3 some questions

+ 1 BM3 - level of customisation - either with or without a remap - as per Hohay's comments, is good IMHO. Not used DCT GTS SW as I've heard too many ho-hum reports about it. Stg 1 or stg 2 OTS maps are very smooth and progressive. If not using wifi agent then the only way to monitor or log is via l...

Re: M2 sports cat

Are you sure? I am pretty certain that the M2 OG is Euro Class 6, just not 6d or 6d-Temp. No I'm not sure and you are right - OGM2 is Euro 6 class compliant from the factory. Obviously, with DP upgrades there's always a choice/cost point whether or not to stay Euro6 compliant, fit for purpose ie MO...

Re: M140i Stage 1 remap causing missfires/backfire

Colder plugs won’t increase the life of the plugs I don’t think as it should still be comfortable in range he might get misfires under light to medium loads if the plugs can’t self clean properly I’ve always gone with run the biggest gap you can get away with and the hottest plug you can safely run...

Re: M2 sports cat

Have a milltek HJS on order as I was in the same position and it depends on your next steps. If you intend on remapping or JB4 at the same time...a 200 cel will work. However it is not ECE euro 6 compliant. The ones that are HJS cores and 300 cel, (Milltek, akra...etc.) are euro 6 compliant. Fabspe...

Re: M140i Stage 1 remap causing missfires/backfire

Plugs are a consumable part when you start tuning so he may have to change them every 30k but hardly the end of the world only thing it might cause is a slightly rougher idle but doubt it would be noticeable Why would you recommend colder plugs for just a map ? The remap on this car reads like its ...

Re: M140i Stage 1 remap causing missfires/backfire

Might be worth checking the spark plug gaps and maybe closing them down just a touch see if it improves Just had the plugs re-gapped to 22 thou, seems to be working a tread no misfires since and I can finally plant the car. Thank you :) What's the OEM plug gap for b58 ? If its 30 thou and you've cl...
