Re: Remap in Feb, swirls & egr???

Swirl flaps on N47 engine are like a kebab skewer running the length of he inlet manifold. The actuator on mine kept popping off so i ripped mine out, qhite easy todo just make sure you catch all the parts as you pull the rod out including the 3 plastic bushes which sit between the flaps. So long as...

Re: What are your remap figures on a 120d?

214 bhp and 350ish ft/lb, seen posts of 225-235 but not convinced these are accurate at all, more important is the way the car drives, much more punchy and driveability is improved About the same as mine then. You're right, it's much better to drive now but I've found that since I got it remapped I...

Re: Angel eyes at unlock

Yep all door handles still light up, and angel eyes come on as soon as you put key in the ignition. Start stop hasnt worked for ages as battery is no longer perfect, its not something which bothers me enough to spend £100 on a battery. Just weird that it has suddenly stopped

Angel eyes at unlock

Weird behaviour from the car. Normally the side lights come on when you unlock the car, a feature i quite like, angel eyes, door handles and tail lights all lit up when you unlocked on the fob. This did stop when the parking module died and was unplugged, but went back to normal since this was repla...

Re: Bmw claim this is normal

I reckon someone squashed the spring clips up too tight on the pad which locks into the pistons of the brake calliper

Re: Adaptive headlight fault

It is the drivers unit which works regardless of which ballast, bulb, control board is fitted or even if fitted to the passenger side of the car. Got to be a wiring issue inside the passenger jnit

Re: Catless downpipe

I would say yes. Turbo will spool up faster because of lack of back pressure. This will result in more boost sooner than the ECU is expecting and will cause problems. Same if you remove a DPF on a diesel

They come through the right hand side of the boot where the parking sensors control box goes

Re: Just one damper?

Went for one in the end since one of the adaptive headlights has also just decided to go on strike. Wow what a dangerous job changing a damper is. That spring is under serious tension to get it all back together because the damper won't extend

Just one damper?

Car went for service the other day and the garage reported the drivers front damper was starting to leak. They said they would only use Sachs ones but were clear they thought no benefit to replacing both at the same time. The reason being they are so well made they either fail or don't. They have al...
