Re: Water pump

To be honest with you, if any seller doesn't call out when the water pump was changed in the description I wouldn't buy as I would be wary of them. Most 130i Sellers know this is a common problem and will let you know when they changed it. In terms of longevity, On my 130i which now has 136k on the...

Re: 130i hunters unite!

and here I am looking to change from the 130i to a S3. The only thing stopping me with the price differential between the two. Mine is Auto, thought I would detest auto cars, but actually think it suits the motor, especially since most my driving is either in town or on a dual carrageway. Then again...

Re: Selling my 130i

It does look like the drivers' side rear spring has snapped? If it has, you'll be riding on your bumpstop which could give you a jarring ride. N.B. £9k is rather optimistic, especially for an Auto. Modifications don't usually add any value either, quite the opposite. That was my thought too. I know...

Re: Best year to buy

I guess I was lucky, was coming to the end of my Golf R lease deal and was looking for a temporary vehicle until I purchased a new car (was debating between a M135i and S3). The BMW came up for sale locally to me, so purchased it a stop gap. Two years later, I still have the car. Thought I would own...

Re: Best year to buy

Mines an 07 Auto but has the cheaper road tax. Its band J I think so £290 per annum. Trying to decide whether to sell it as usual looking for a change. Spotted a 8v S3 so might take it for a test drive. Seems mad as mine has only 60K on the clock and kitted out to the nines, but I tend to get bored ...

Re: Birds B1

If stock dampers and springs are in good shape with no leaks on dampers or broken springs then just replacing the bumpstops (as above they are a lot more than just bumpstops on these cars) could well be enough to return car to what you want, even just changing the rear bumpstop for shorter BMWP or ...

Re: Thinking of a 130i, spec an issue, what can you retrofit?

Didn't realize the electric seats were super rare in the 5 door model. Must have found a well spec'd one with both the seats and xenons. The only option it is really missing is the Professional Sound and sunroof. I'm different to you guys I actually wanted an auto. Bought mine 2 years ago and do an ...
