Re: Anyone know this car? - v1.1

Those 2 Porkers are just astonishing. Big money gonna change hands for cars with hidden histories, potentially dangerous too if they're not repaired properly. Shocking

Re: Does anyone supply their own oil come service time?

Just had my 4-year service done. Supplied the dealer with the oil and spark plugs (thanks oilman). Definitely brought the cost down.

Wish I'd bought the micro/pollen filer as well. Damn, that added a lot to the bill.

Re: Local dealer refused to MOT - BCS Exhaust

Found a local garage to MOT the car.

"Their loss" was his statement to the local dealer's refusal :)

Re: Local dealer refused to MOT - BCS Exhaust

Indeed. I'm confident that I won't have issues going to another garage for the MOT. It's just inconvenient, especially as they were happy to MOT it last year.

Local dealer refused to MOT - BCS Exhaust

Took my car for it's 4-year service a couple of days ago and had the MOT booked at the same time. Dealer called to say the service was done but they weren't willing to do the MOT as I had a non-standard exhaust fitted (BCS Powervalve). I pointed out that they MOT'd it last year with the same exhaust...

Re: Number plate chat

Never heard of a ‘Q’ plate threat before, I am sure that can’t be right - If plate confiscated car would return to an age related plate, ‘Q’ is for vehicles with no real manufactured date “as age or identity is in doubt” I don't believe the Q-plate thing at all - that's for cars whose origins canno...

Re: Struggling with Insurance

My insurance is due for renewal this month. Received a renewal quote from Chris Knott (£496), just called them with Adrian Flux's price and they're likely going to match it (about 40 quid cheaper). As an aside, I've found Chris Knott quite pleasant to deal with. They can be a little abrupt on the ph...

Re: Sky Insurance won't insure BMWs?!!

Chris Knott have just sent through my renewal for this coming year, and although it is higher than last year, it's not horrendous. I shall be calling them and pointing out that I can get cheaper like for like via the Meerkats and see what they say.

Re: Number plate chat

You could space the number plate but for three reasons. 1. It's illegal. 2. You'd look a right c**k. 3. People will laugh and point at you. :) As for you Ezzra, Pointless comment yours - Wasn't really after your opinion just looking for some advice from people with experience in the matter. But wel...

Re: “No sorry Mr. XYZ we won’t be providing a courtesy car”.....is this normal?

Every time a car of mine has been at my local dealer, I get a courtesy car. To be fair, I do tend to book it well in advance.

Go somewhere else if you can.
