Re: Tempted!

Same dilemma for me, I put a similar post earlier in the week. I like the TT but fancy an M135i although having looked around this week the running costs difference (especially insurance) are a lot higher. Not sure what TT you have though. Still probably make the change but will wait until the end o...

Re: Insurance reactions to thefts

I'm looking at quotes now and they are fairly expensive, it's putting me off the search in all honestly as I'm looking at around £900 aged 27 with 8 years driving experience - granted I've had an accident back in 2017 but with no convictions and my wife on that's far too steep for me. This is based ...

Re: Cat cars

The majority are thefts whereby you can opt for it to be written off even if the interior is dirty, than you have what is effectively a non structural write off - you used to be able to do this with vandal damaged cars but not so much these days. There is a large market for them though! anything to ...

Re: Used negotiations at BMW dealerships

You have a chance of a discount, if you pander to their finance deals and hang fire for about 3-4 weeks. As Marco says sales targets are key for a lot of branches and when the winter hits it isn't rocket science to know they'll start to panic. Then also as said above, roll with their finance offerin...

Re: Interesting tussle with a V8 M3

On a public road especially with stop starts and roundabouts, it is very difficult to gain a significant 'gap' you need a lot more horsepower and driver skill more importantly. Coupled with the fact it usually ends up with your bonnet getting peppered with gravel, speed traps and the token idiot who...

Re: Do I do it..

My TT is up at around 270bhp at the moment so still some way off the TTRS but it shifts as it's only 1260kg, like you I drove a friends and they are something else his was 'stage 2' and sat comfortably at 430bhp, hold the wheel and go with no movement what so ever - almost dare I say it too easy and...

Re: Do I do it..

I’ll see if I can track one down, that makes complete sense though the TT is quite planted in the bends no real movement at all. I think a lot of people advise the 135/40i almost edges more towards a GT car in the fact that straightline it does everything you’d expect but push it more than 7-8/10 in...

Do I do it..

Been contemplating getting back in a 1 series, crashed my previous 123d and have had a TT for a tad over a year now. Speed wise it’s pretty quick, not too bad on fuel and quite a nice place to be, it doesn’t make me want to drivenit hard like my old E82 though. Noticed that early M135i’s are availab...

Re: I want a BOV for my 120d

It's a lot of money to sound like a muppet, I fully appreciate the each to their own and everybody is different/it's his money stance.

I think they sound daft on most cars in fairness, but on a diesel?! Really not sure it's a good idea!

Still as above if you want one go for it!

Re: M2 v M4

Two different cars entirely, you'll know straight away which one is for you. Fun choice seems to be the M2 by all accounts where as the more practical cruiser choice would be the M4.

As said above though, only you know the answer.

TT vs Giulietta QV

A strange title I know given two completely different cars! To cut a long story short one of them needs buying on Saturday and I cannot make my mind up. 2010 TT 2.0 TFSI 208bhp 2010 Alfa Giulietta 235bhp I like the TT as I've heard the engine is a cracker and fairly cheap to run given the performanc...

Re: I test drove the new Civic Type R

Me being me the price grabbed my eyes more so than anything else, all it shows really is how flipping good value the M140 is! Comparing it do this and also the RS which in fairness would probably be a closer rival, where dealers are wanting well excess of £500 pm with no discounts available, seems s...

Re: Farewell!!

Youch, that shows how well modern cars crumple to protect us. You were lucky to go in backwards it should prevent you from getting whiplash as your head will just push back into the headrest. Sounds strange that it would just snap on a slippery surface the traction control on the E82 is fairly quic...

Re: Farewell!!

If the front went first at only 35mph, you must have hit something slippery on the road. Which setting was your traction control in? I'm so glad you were on 4 wheels, not 2! Happy wedding! Traction control was on fully at the time, never turned it off in fairness! it was the front passenger side wh...
