Re: 'Bucking' F22 diesel - possible diagnosis?

Hi, came across this thread as I was googling what was up with my 09/15 120D manual!! Exactly the same symptoms as the rest of the posts here - usually more pronounced when cruising on motorway with light throttle applied in 6th gear then change in traffic dictates more throttle. Then my car will “...

Re: 'Bucking' F22 diesel - possible diagnosis?

Thank you for sharing this, look forward to reading what the total bill is to decide next course of action. It's weird how you say it's cooler related. We've had a real cold snap the last 2 days and the symptoms have eased. It's still there but the bucking is far less fierce and definitely less freq...

Re: 'Bucking' F22 diesel - possible diagnosis?

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/bmw-recalls-268000-diesel-models-uk-over-fire-risk Yep, not wrong with the extended recalls. Most of the cars here could 'potentially' fall in this. BMW customer services weren't interested in my concerns, also looks like used valuations have taken a hit ...

Re: 'Bucking' F22 diesel - possible diagnosis?

Thanks for sharing that. Mine is now more pronounced but I'm even more certain it's DPF related. The attitude of the woman who called me from servicing at Wilmslow was disgraceful, especially more insulting as she was Mini and it was "because no one else rang you, I am" as if to say, no one really g...

Re: 'Bucking' F22 diesel - possible diagnosis?

I have exactly the same issue on my 2012 116d, 'jumping' while feathering throttle at around 70mph on an incline, but seems fine otherwise, no other hesitation or similar symptoms. Interested to see how others get on with this! Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk Hi Jamie, Has yours been in for an...

Re: 'Bucking' F22 diesel - possible diagnosis?

So I've contacted BMW and it's booked in next week. Total denial that an update would do anything of the sort and it's going to cost just shy of £120 if it's not EGR related. The update was in relation to the EGR recall, Mini 'specialist ' that rang back said it's unrelated as it started happening a...

Re: 'Bucking' F22 diesel - possible diagnosis?

I have just had my EGR changed after complaining that the car "hesitated" after the engine was neither accelerating the car nor holding it back. The MPG gauge was at about 80mpg and when I pressed the accelerator the "hesitation" happened. I did not get a recall and the car is 18 months old and is ...

Re: 'Bucking' F22 diesel - possible diagnosis?

Hi guys - long time lurker here, but this post made me jump in and make an account. A little context first - I'm from Portugal (that's why I haven't made an account sooner), so excuse me if I misspell or don't use the right words. I have a 3 year old 120Da LCI (06/2015). Own it since 04/2017. Hi, w...

Re: 'Bucking' F22 diesel - possible diagnosis?

Did this problem only start after the July software update ? Hi Steve, yes pal. Been the best car I've owned since then. Have you both had the egr recall done? Hi mate, yeah it's had a recall for that and also for a roof problem that 'effects only 1 in 100 cabrios' last year. Yea last year in May i...

Re: 'Bucking' F22 diesel - possible diagnosis?

Have you got an X-Drive? Are you sure its the Engine and not the gearbox? Does the bucking feel like a cylinder misfire (a very rapid jolt) or is it more pronounced? If so, it could be an injector on the way out. Have you tried turning the DTC on (Sport+) and also turning the DSC fully off (By hold...

'Bucking' F22 diesel - possible diagnosis?

Hi everyone, My 3 year old 220d Auto (30k miles - owned for over 2 years) has started with a problem and wondered if anyone with a mechanical mind may know what's at fault. It started in July and has slowly progressed but at this moment there are no warning lights, no warning bongs or any "!" in the...

Re: New Order, 40K Tax Confusion

I think trl stated it was around 40600 as the on the road costs are excluded But i could be wronf Think you aren't far off. Something to do with the initial tax being less with an auto than a manual due to emissions or something. And as some others have said, the registration stuff doesn't contribu...

Cut the BS, take away all the mumble about transmissions & LC blah blah blah

BTOB/Motech/AHR sort out a re-match m140i MT v m2 MT
I'd like to see that. With guys/girls who own the cars too would be nice so they're familiar with the shift.

Re: M140i Motech v M2 (Archie Hamilton BOTB Drag Race)

Watching the videos closer, To be fair to Archie the M140i was already moving before go was called on the second run. Moving a fraction early is a massive advantage. Yeah I noticed that. If you ever watch Matt (formerly CarBuyer/Auto Express and now CarWow) he uses a GPS box to accurately time stuf...

Re: M140i Motech v M2 (Archie Hamilton BOTB Drag Race)

All this billow about killing m2’s on a unconvincing drag race is a bit sh*t IMO as we all know they are very similar in a straight line anyway no one has said any different as far as I’m aware Well, for a car that is sold as having only 250kW and an inferior slush box, it's surprising that the 270...
