Re: dreadful exhaust flap rattle .

Hey Mouse Just want to confirm: you took the car in initially for a software update; when this didn’t fix the problem (rattle) you took it back and had a new back box fitted? I’ve been told the software is an update so won’t require a re-flash I of course don’t believe this as I had that go wrong b...

Re: Sport displays.

Sport displays are a gimmick anyway! A gimmick indeed - the values aren’t a true reflection of what they represent. I’m pretty sure they are based on throttle placement when accelerating as oppose to actual power outputs. I think I can speak for all peeps on here when I say we’d of all preferred th...

Re: dreadful exhaust flap rattle .

My question is does anyone know what this software update is and how the hell a software update can fix a hardware issue (other than disengage the part which I hope it does not)? Has anyone had the update and been rattle free thereafter? Also concerned with how the ‘update’ goes as the last time it...

Re: dreadful exhaust flap rattle .

Yep I have an auto and have had the update... all ok. You can feel/hear the extra pressure in the exhaust at cold start idle but all it does is make it rattle more. Other than this the car runs great Great to hear the software on an auto is A-OK not so great to hear it has actually made the initial...

Re: dreadful exhaust flap rattle .

Thanks for everyones input - as ever it ain’t straight forward. The software update is looking less favourable however if I don’t go down that route then that will be the end of that. The over revving on the man box sounds awful - does anyone have any experience of the software update on an auto box?

Re: dreadful exhaust flap rattle .

Car is coming up to it’s third b’day so is booked in for a the usual end of warranty gubbins along with some minor warranty work that was agreed when it was last in. Up until winter just gone I had been exhaust rattle free unfortunately that ain’t the case anymore. It is certainly more noticeable on...

Re: Squeaky Wingmirrors

On my second car with auto folding mirrors - a small amount of WD40 with straw attachment has always worked well for me. As already mentioned; make sure you wipe off any drips

Re: My M140i Video

I’m no driving guru but my two pence worth is this: if you wrap your thumbs around the wheel then you are fairly committed to gripping that particular part of the wheel (x2). The problem with this is you then naturally tend to then keep them there which ultimately means your hands and wheel become a...

Re: Motech Stance + Splitter + Speed Bumps

For those that have had Motech Eibach springs fitted on the standard (passive) dampers and wheel spacers - how long after did you go and get the wheel alignment checked and was it very far out? Getting mine done this weekend (Motech Eibach -25mm front, -20mm rear, 15mm spacers rear, 12mm spacers fr...

As said many times by others, the main thing I wish I had is a temperature display, both oil and water.
This has to be the one feature ‘want’ at the top of all owners wish list - a really shame that it only appeared as a feature on the run out trim model

It would also be worth you stating whereabouts you roughly live - nothing beats a personal recommendation especially when it comes to something like this.

Re: Alignment is STILL off

Said this before many a time... I’d trust a pro with string over a clown with a Hunter. Yes the 1ner can be a little tricky to sort if the guy / girl doesn’t know what they are doing or has any patience for it. The biggest issue is the limitation of camber on the front axel. The rear is fairly strai...

Re: Motech Stance + Splitter + Speed Bumps

Been sat on Eibach Pro springs for 18months with splitter fitted at the same time. There have been a few close calls / scrapes but nothing you can see (I certainly heard them mind!). The (obvious) trick is to approach at slow speed. Hitting the anchors last min only dips the nose of the car which is...
