Re: KSB body kit

Had the maxton splitter & side skirts fitted for nearly two years with zero issues. The wife recently kissed a curb which cost me the splitter - I order a replacement and it turned up A-OK in a matter of days. I’ve seen a load of the reviews but they don’t tally with my personal experience and i’d N...

Re: End of M140i

Halliwell Jones Chester is my dealer, it was their last build slot. Offered a couple of stock cars but not what I wanted. Have bought stock before but was never quite happy with them because not exactly what I wanted. Bad times, sorry to hear that mate. I ordered my new M140 3 weeks ago from Warrin...

Re: Expensive trip to work this morning

Has it also damaged your splitter? There appears to be a massive gap especially on the near side??

Re: dreadful exhaust flap rattle .

As it happens the update appears to have (sort of worked) as it is no longer as noticeable. My understanding is the update increases the boost a wee bit which effectively puts a bit more pressure down the pipe and behind the valve which supposedly reduces the rattle. This was done last year - somet...

Re: dreadful exhaust flap rattle .

I am taking mine to Halliwell Jones tomorrow. Horrible rattle on start up. Still audible when warm and in Sport mode at 4000rpm. 2 years old and 25000 miles. I have had it 4 months. Is there a solid fix for this from BMW yet? HJ Warrington by any chance? Mine went in for the same thing - BMW HQ ins...

You can use some strong sticky gel to simply pull the button off and click the newbie in place. It took me about 5 secs with no need to remove anything from the dash.
Simples.

Re: Paint -is this normal ??

Yep I can confirm my 65 plate factory order (albeit MG) is exactly the same as are pretty much all 1ners that I have clocked. Simple comes down to poor coverage of paint so although annoying / sloppy you have nothing unique to worry about.

Enjoy the car 👍🏻

Re: Break in thefts etc and personal information...

Im quite happy for thieves to find my home address. Indeed, I'm quite happy for them to break in to try to find the car keys. They'd be silly to have ignored the half a dozen warning signs about the dogs. I have two Caucasian Shepherd dogs (take a look on Google). They, as a bread, are very protect...

Re: Dodgy wheel paint

That looks like paint peeling off (original) paint. I’d assume they hadn’t prepped the job properly - no rub down to provide a key, etc. I’d want all four taking back to alloy and done properly from scratch. How much, if anything the dealer will stump towards it is questionable. I tried to buy a car...

Re: I probably shouldn't have sold my M135i LCI

Hey Nick Good to see you back on here - from pure memory I think you had an AW m135i bought from MR TRL is that right? I remember ordering mine at approx the same time (from Tony) as you but I ended up delaying collection until Sept 15. Still got mine which has been a daily since collection. Getting...

Re: Outdoor Car cover

Tree sap is a nightmare - but small high volume scratches on all the pinch points of a car cover are worse IMO.

Personally I’d only opt for a cover if indoors away from dust, grit but more importantly wind.

Would a car port be out of the question?

Re: MPSS or PS4

When it comes to price the PS4 is a cheaper tyre almost everywhere compared to the MPSS. Never had any issues at speed with my current ones inc. some decent Romps, etc. It’s fair to say the car tends to experience more wet / cold weather than it does track days with the go pedal floored so the PS4 i...

As previously stated: Bilt Hamber products tend to be of sound environment intent. I’ve used them exclusively for years inc the snow foam so can certainly vouch for their cleaning / polishing abilities
