Re: Brake Fluid Service not included in 5yr Service Pack?

Well not really since they will change the oil in the 4th year for free if the car asks for it ie if your mileage justifies it so it offers more than a 4 year plan would. I don’t see what you have to complain about. As has been noted above, the 5 year plan clearly excluded the second fluid service ...

Re: Road trip

It'll be well worth you googling the driving requirements of every country you intend to visit. I understand the traffic police in France are hotter lately and in Switzerland they are particularly vigilant. You will quickly adapt to driving on the right, but I know from experience that starting off ...

Re: Road trip

Trip across to Bordeaux and then back home will be long and relativeliy boring. IMO, unless you specifically want to go to Bordeaux (you could pick up Champagne, Burgundy & Rhone on the way south if its the wine you're interested in), you would be better off heading further East in Italy, pick up th...

Speed camera detectors/GPS locaters are illegal in France and other countries so remember to disable them if you have them.
Again, not so much what you need, more what you mustn't have but, in some countries, dashcams can be either restricted in use or illegal. Austria and Portugal for example.

Re: Brake Fluid Service not included in 5yr Service Pack?

Just had my "5 year" brake fluid service and have been charged despite my 5 year service plan which, on pulling out the info, clearly states the brake fluid is only included at the 3rd year service only. W T F :? ? Can anyone advise what is included in the 5th year brake fluid service? ie what did m...

Re: Is there a way to have what gear i am in displayed ???

I would love to have a prominent display of the gear I’m in, ideally on a display on top of the dash, or even my phone, as the normal dash display, bearing in mind I drive in manual mode, is just not big enough to stand out and is frequently hidden as the times I need it most is approaching junction...

Agreed. Extremely slow. And no facilities to upload pictures. Why?
:?
It would be useful though for the size limit to be displayed in the inital text because I keep forgetting what it is -I know it's around 250KB but keep geting caught out and have to reload.

Re: Tints too dark?

A couple of days ago, I was out for a wander at lunchtime and saw two cars (different locations) with seriously blacked out front windows. Both attracted my attention with ludicrous exhaust noise (makes you think the recent news of sound detectors is a good thing) and the advantage for the drivers o...

No, I'm old school and not a fan of spacers, even small ones.

No marks on tyres at all.

Re: 245 front tyres

On mine, 245/40/18 (MPSS) mounted on 8J ET40 with M4 LCA + TS. I needed to get my front arches flared to clear. Would have been worse with square shoulder tyres like AD08 or R888, etc I would say 8J ET45 is needed to guarantee no outer rubbing. ET45 on the front is a gnat's from fouling the strut. ...

Re: Tints too dark?

35% light penetration, not 35% darkness. If that makes sense. Doesn't really make sense if they're described as % tint It is almost entirely aesthetic, that is the benefit. That said aesthetics are very personal and it is entirely in the eye of the beholder and the purview of the owner (within lega...

Re: Brake discs - am I bring had over?

My 3,200 mile warning has been advising me that new pads were required nearly 2 years and 18k miles ago at around 30k miles.

To me, your pads still look quite meaty. Just keep an eye on them but if you're planning on any heavy driving, consider getting them replaced.
