I've had the death rattle once on my car so far. If it becomes a regular occurrence it will be going in to Sytner Nottm so good to hear they have experience of the problem.LadyBayImp wrote: ↑Tue Nov 14, 2017 9:01 pmThe chap at Sytner actually said it’s been a few months since anyone had the fault.

Re: Experience moving from 3 series to 1 series?
I went from a 330d to a M140 and much prefer the lighter, smaller 1er for more fun and think it is comfortable enough for long distances also.
I would only get the larger car if you actually need the larger interior space.

Re: If you're weighing up Bus Nav or Pro Nav....
Had Pro Media on my previous F30, but didn't bother on the M140. Don't miss it to be honest, and there is no functional difference with the navigation system. Rarely use the navigation, and not a music buff, hence my choice. To be honest, and my opinion obviously, I don't think Pro is worth the ext...

Re: Massive delay - wtf
Mine was delayed 10 weeks. At the time of ordering I said that time was of the essence so they gave me a 435i to cover the 10 week delay. No dramas.

Re: New air con condenser m140
I lost aircon recently - dealer said the gas pressure from the factory is kept low to avoid damage in transit. If pressure drops below a threshold it will stop working. My pressure was c.100. They re-gassed it to about 500 and all was well. Took 2 hrs to re-gas as they use a new environmentally frie...

Re: A little advice about checking tyres
I don't physically check my pressures as often as I should but I do regularly check the idrive for the pressures.

Re: Coolant tanks on the M140i
I was thinking the same. Shouldn't affect the cooling too much? Btw, my bill to get this fixed was £900 - about £400 parts plus apparently it took them 6 - 7 hrs of labour. They said it was the first m140 they had done and it was not as straightforward as other 1 series because the engine bay is a l...

Re: M135i + E46 M3 @ Brands Hatch
Do you know what qualifies you to become an ards instructor? Nothing. Ards instructors are mainly amateurs. One question I remember from taking my ARDS test was " if you notice your car is on fire when on track, should you a) speed up to try to put the fire out, b) pull into the pits by the fuel st...

Re: M135i + E46 M3 @ Brands Hatch
Good point, git-r2. Too many people can talk a fast lap but not drive one! Last time I timed myself at Brands was a few years ago but was doing 58-59 secs from memory. That was in a stripped-out and caged Alfa 33! That's a good time in the Alfa, on what tyres? It was a Dunlop control tyre in the Al...

Re: Coolant tanks on the M140i
Workshop have just pulled out a stray bolt from the radiator. There is also some damage on the lower grill so it would appear to have fallen off a car in front on the road or such like. Time to bend over!
