Re: Anybody swear by any fuel additive products?

I'm no mechanic, all i know is what i saw from taking the egr valve off. Much cleaner when running millers ecomax than without. And that was even with running premium fuel. Go figure. Good enough for me. Not the only 1 to have found the same results from additives on diesel.

Re: Anybody swear by any fuel additive products?

Yes redex was great in the 80's, loved pouring a bottle straight into the carb to clean it out, and filling the neighbourhood with clouds of white smoke! Yep I remember a few times being amazed at the level of white smoke pouring down the road after a Redex carb 'clean up'. Redex is simply a thin o...

Anybody adding any products to their fuel that they recommend?
What are you looking for the additive to do? Clean? Add performance? Both? Petrol or diesel?

Or map a 120d up to 230-240hp?? Lots of options.
Are the engines easily good for it? With the increase in bhp, are you loosing mpg? Some maps I've seen you can gain on both?!
Best asking some of the site sponsor tuners on here for detailed answer.

Re: 118 or 120

I had an x1 118d courtesy car on Fri while my 120d was being serviced. You really do notice the extra power and torque of the 120d, to me it was quite significant. As above, you have to push the 118d harder to get the performance out of it.

Re: EGR coding at 2nd service?

So there was a recall notice on the egr valve. They had to test its operation. If it passed then just coding required. Mine failed so a new unit was fitted and coded. Lost all my idive settings sadly. But my cruise control is still working.

EGR coding at 2nd service?

My car is in for its 2nd service today. 37k miles, 120d lci. They told me they have coding to do on it and i saw EGR valve on the paper work. Does anyone know what they are doing? Is it emissions related? Will i notice reduced performance? Increased fuel consumption etc? Also will i have lost my ret...

Re: real world economy 118d

My 120d, 2015 lci, 5dr has returned 47.8mpg for 36k miles from new. Mix of driving. Long motorway runs ger 50-60mpg. 118d is the same engine as far as i know, 150ps vs 190ps. Should be slightly better on fuel

I've heard this is the last thing you want to do. Those things are abrasive. Removes the surface of the leather.

Re: Steering wheel detailing

That’s a good link. I wonder if you can get the lacquer on its own? It did give me an idea though... I’ve always used Renapur on my leather bike gear and it’s brilliant. I’ll try it on the steering wheel and report back (if I can find it: one pot lasts a life time!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapata...

Re: Steering wheel detailing

Thanks for the replies so far. I've found this kit. I don't think my wheel is bad enough so will try and clean with soapy water first.
