Re: 125i / 130i - upgrades for road / track

Can’t afford 4 tyres at the moment unfortunately. The rears will be replaced when the wheels are refurbed. The handling on the 1 series is unpredictable as standard, the rear end wiggle you get from these cars are horrendous. Removing the runflats from the front end has made a massive difference to...

Re: 125i / 130i - upgrades for road / track

Run down of the car - Seems to drive well enough however I have an intermittent ABS / TC light that comes on, hopefully this was relating to bad tyres / wear and uneven pressures which were corrected today (New conti contacts non run flats fitted - fronts only at the moment as these looked like sli...

Hi,

I'm after a small amount of touch up paint for my car - down to white primer in places - do I need the lacquer to go over the top as well?

Re: 130i Rear Tyre Size - is this ok for LCI? Sanity check b4 I order

I'd try 35psi square to start with. Wider tyres usually require less pressure, not more. For example, Tractor tyres (despite the huge weight) need around 15psi, some skinny racing pushbike tyres need 100psi (despite supporting very little load). If the turn-in is too soft/slow, add a pound. Too unc...

I'd start with 35psi front and rear (cold), see how that feels for a week, then fine tune to your liking.
Ok many thanks for that - will try that but should I aim to have a bit more in the rears?

And how will I know what feels right?

Re: 130i Rear Tyre Size - is this ok for LCI? Sanity check b4 I order

So back again with the inevitable question ..... what tyre pressures should I be running? Had a look round here on the forum there is some variation so what it a rough ball park figure to aim for? To reiterate tyres are Goodyear Eagle F1 asym 3 ............... Front 225/40/18 92Y Rear 235/40/18 95Y ...
