Re: How To Guide: Fitting mesh on M140i lower radiator grill

Good video. How did you get the rock guards by BMW fitted as a 'recall job'? When I bought the car (used from BMW dealership) I read up on the holes in radiator / loosing coolant issues and reached out to BMW UK and they agreed to have my local dealer fit them. I had no issue at the time so it was ...

How To Guide: Fitting mesh on M140i lower radiator grill

BMW retro-fitted the rock guards on the 2017 M140i since it didn't have any but you still don't get any additional protection for the lower radiator. I decided to buy some mesh and do it myself and here's a little video of how I did it. Hopefully this is helpful to any thinking of doing the same. ht...

Re: Loss of aircon/coolant leak, Both radiators damaged. Updated - BMW and Dealer paying in full.

I managed to have BMW retro-fit the rock guards on my 2017 M140i but the kit still doesn't give any additional protection for the lower radiator so I've just this morning pulled that grill off and fitted some mesh. I did a little video to show how I did it that might be helpful to others: https://yo...

Re: Using BimmerCode and Vgate iCar Pro BLE 4.0 OBD2 on M140i

Set the ‘Checkbox acoustical lock confirm in multimedia system’ to ‘Active’. You don’t need to go in to Expert mode to do this. Then when you’ve got the ignition on go in to the multimedia config menu and click the checkbox- it always seems to revert to unchecked by default - but that will do it. Ye...

Re: Using BimmerCode and Vgate iCar Pro BLE 4.0 OBD2 on M140i

I couldn't get any increased sound out of mine by playing with the ASD settings so I have reverted those to original. I have now also updated Angel Eyes and DRL settings. My final set of codings as below: https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1882/44548835201_5764c73a5e_b.jpg Coding by Simon Orsborn , on F...

Low volume is quieter and high volume is louder but it’s not a huge difference. Frequency affects the pitch of the sound.

Re: Using BimmerCode and Vgate iCar Pro BLE 4.0 OBD2 on M140i

I coded the acoustic lock on mine, it’s under headunit - alarm system - checkbox acoustical lock confirm in multimedia system. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thanks Timbo. I've got the audible chirp on locking the car working now. My updated codings in the table all working now. https://farm2.s...

Got the audible chirp on locking the car working now and changes also made to Angel Eyes and DRLs. My updated codings in the table all working now.

Re: Using BimmerCode and Vgate iCar Pro BLE 4.0 OBD2 on M140i

Thanks RickN55. There seem to be three possible parameters to change though: >> Angel eyes brightness low beams >> Angel eyes brightness parking light >> Daytime driving lights brightness Sounds like it was the last you changed in yours then and that default is 12%. I might set mine to that to start...

Using BimmerCode and Vgate iCar Pro BLE 4.0 OBD2 on M140i

Hello all - just thought I'd write up a quick piece on my experiences so far on having coded my 2017 3-door M140i (registered March 2017). It remains a work-in-progress. So I bought the Vgate iCar Pro with Bluetooth, which was £23.90 delivered - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B071D8SYXN/ref=oh_...

Re: M140i Motech Springs/Spacers & Realignment

TBH it wasn’t that far out but it’s worth getting it checked. I left it a week and ~200miles before getting it done. Cost me £70 for full four wheel Hunter Laser alignment. Cheers.

Re: Stone Chip Repair Kits / Pens - WHAT'S BEST?

Thanks for the advice and feedback. I watched a few youtube videos as well. I decided to go with the Halfords Alpine White kit in the end. I did a couple of primer fills in the chip/hole and flatted back using a wet&dry hole-punched disk (really fine 4000 grit I think) superglued on the end of a pen...

Stone Chip Repair Kits / Pens - WHAT'S BEST?

Got a tiny (presumed stone) chip on the top of my nearside wing. No more than 2mm but bloody annoying and down to the metal. Touched it in with some white primer I had knocking about but need to build it up to level and finish it properly. Has anyone tried the "Halfords BMW Alpine White Scratch & Ch...

Re: M140i Motech Springs/Spacers & Realignment

Yes it will be in the call logs they have from when I got the quote as I phoned up to verify all the details and also logged in the price comparison websites where details are initially entered. For the avoidance of any doubt I suggest you make sure you get it all in writing though if you do have co...
