Re: M135i 3/5 door weight and performance differences?

Performace wise I doubt your bum dyno could tell a difference but most people who like driving should feel a difference in tightness in the body. The five door should have a bit more body flex and it should be detectable to most

Re: Wing Badges

They are awfull a crude marketing exercise, they even look crap on a full M car. Personally I hate badges full stop all my cars have been de badged including my cooper s works and 130. I'm happy enough in myself to not need to let everyone else know. I also think that's what makes cars like the 130,...

Re: M135i Stock Clear out - apply within!

If it's a lack of demand.. Then why the hell does the UK get the X6 M? I'm sure the Xdrive M135i would destroy a chunk of S3 / RS3 sales over here. Come on BMW listen to your customers! I don't think the majority of S3 drivers even know it's 4wd or care for that matter, it will all be down to looks...

Re: What else is in your garage?

I have this E28 528i, but due to getting married and going to the Maldives it hasn't Been out this year due to a blowing manifold gasket that I need to fix but not got round to. It will be out next year though and I cannot wait. Marco is also itching to see it to so I need to get.it sorted. http://i...

Yup it's because the engine is the right way round, longitudinal instead of transverse

Re: David and Goliath...

Nice to see someone post some sensible results. The M135i possesses some serious midrange punch. Would like to see the two together when they are both in their sweet spots at each given speed as the M135i will excel with higher gear test due to the greater torque at lower revs.

Is there no way of getting the control unit out of the originals and onto the M6 items?

Waste of effort - indulgence and pampering for a handful of rich people, most of whom will have obtained their money in dubious ways. . Gotta love a lefty, who cares who they made it for? Its pushing boundaries and technology it's called evolution and it's what humans do best, we've been doing it i...

Re: Winter Tyres Cheap vs expensive

Im looking for some winter tyres for my BMW 118D SE. What is the real difference between getting some cheap ones at £60 like the Accelera snow vs £145 Goodyear ultra grip . I know they wont be the same performance but is it really that much of a difference in performance for £80 price difference. T...

Re: First Post... 130i Insurance

The LE is just an E81 130i, it doesn't have anything mechanically different vs an ordinary M Sport. The SE might well attract a different demographic, so might have been crashed less historically? This and the fact the SE is probably one of the rarest cars, I've only ever seen 2 and I get about a l...

Re: aircon compressor faulty - can't use the car without rep

I think you will find its the same belt that drives you alternator pas water pump etc etc Yeah, I know that bit (not being smuggling and arsey, but no other way to word it :D) that's why I said replace the belt but not the compressor and disengage the clutch for it and carry on without air con.?

Re: ZF Sport box in S vs D

Wouldn't drive be "lazy mode" for the gearbox so it would use the torque and s is the "full bore assault" for the gearbox. That being g the case I would say it would possibly feel faster riding the wave of torque via your bum dyno, but in S the car knows how to go fast and it does what it does. when...

Re: aircon compressor faulty - can't use the car without rep

I'm just going to rattle of an idea, I could be wrong, if I am please advise. I know the aircon pump is driven via an out side source, that's a fact. So this belt must go around the clutch that powers the shaft that goes into the compressor to make it work. Now my thinking would be if the belt is br...

Re: Which colour?

Trouble is it's everywhere, victim of its own success? I don't like white on many cars but on the 1 series it works so well imo, just seems to complement and enhance the shape. Silver would probably be my second choice as although it is not very interesting, oddly it works, particularly on the F21 ...
