Re: Any Ideas????

Stone in caliper? Check discs for any scoring / lines?

Alternatively, had you driven over something and it was stuck / dragging underneath then popped out - check plastic undertrays for signs of damage?

Re: Someone Keyed bonnet on my JCW

A few years ago my wife decided to put a nice green stripe (from a gatepost) down the side of our Skoda Superb, plus some scrapes on rear arch. These guys did a great job repairing, and I don't recall it being expensive either: http://www.paintlinesmartrepairs.co.uk/index.html Based in Eccleston nr ...

Re: How good is adaptive suspension?

Hello Ian from Up North.... I'm Ian from up north.... You are welcome to come out in mine with adaptive... or my wife can take your missus out if you prefer! I had a passive car for 24hrs before ordering mine, and there was "nothing wrong" with it - however a friend swapped his 5series (with adaptiv...

Re: Criticism of M140i/M240i "above 8/10ths"

Most hot hatches, say Mini or a Golf GTi, favour handling and especially turn in agility, above straight line pace. As Marco states above, it's a small GT, a big engine in a comfortable (although small) package - feels more planted on flowing A roads rather than potholed tight B roads. Turn in grip ...

I am also using this one. Cheap and does work well.
Same here, works well, and is neat / hidden behind mirror - great shape.

Re: M140i demonstrator North West

Nick Harling at Stockport Williams is great, I know a few that have bought through him (several cars for some serial BMW buyers!) He let me have a 140 for 24hrs, and more than happy to do a deal - tell him Ian sent you and I'm sure he will assist. Drop me a PM if you want me to give him a heads up t...

Re: changing app order on idrive screen

Yes, when you zoom out to see all panels, you can push left/right on the controller to move a highlighted tile, then rotate to select a different one.

Re: M140i stolen

Sorry to hear this, and glad you are all okay. It's not difficult to find a picture of your car on the driveway - have you posted it online anywhere with EXIF location data still intact? Sounds like they came from the Midlands to get this, so maybe not as "opportunistic" as we think - great news tha...

Re: Imagine if MOTECH built and TRL supplied BMW M140s

Hi TRL, How does this impact the BMW warranty on the car? There is no conflict as we are not going to be touching mechanical or electrical. Motech will give a 3 year guarantee on the work that they are doing. We are adding to the suspension and the exhaust. There will be no interference with the ma...

Re: Your next car?

I have been alternating Mini's with each past purchase, first a Cooper, then a Cooper S, so most likely a JCW next.

I have a soft spot for convertibles tho, so a good deal on a 2 or 4 cab would tempt me, almost regardless of engine.

Re: Car for the misses

It's very easy to go nuts with stripes and coloured dash trims etc, but I'd do heated screen and seats before anything else. The stock radio looks a bit lost in the F56, so I'd certainly go boost (bigger colour screen) or Nav. Adaptive suspension and radar cruise might be worthwhile if she is doing ...

Re: Car for the misses

Mini came straight to mind - I've had a couple of Gen2's, and they felt pretty stable on the Mway, but the Gen3 really is another league when it comes to NVH. I've driven courtesy car "One" spec Gen3 on the Mway and it felt more like a "BMW 0-series" than any Mini before. Don't rule out the petrol m...

Re: Cotswold M Performance Club - Sun 24th Sept

Great pictures, lovely meet - forgot all about the workshop tour!!

Quite an empire that dealership - it's close to threatening MB World for size, and great to see some classics in there.

Looking forward to the next one.

Re: iOS 11

Spotify and BMWConnected are both no longer working in-car for me after updating to iOS 11. Amazon Music and BMW Connected working fine here, iPhone 7 with iOS11, via Bluetooth. This is via USB I should’ve added. The apps no longer show up under ConnectedDrive when I plug my phone in. Is Apps still...
