Re: Car been thrashed during recall service

Report the incident to the police as an advisory so you have a paper trail for the insurers should it all go south.. Rip the dealership a new one. Get them to say something in writing regarding who was driving 'for your records'. Those boxes, while vital for young 'uns, can properly screw you if the...

Re: My new hobby.....an E82 LMB 125i, now with 90% less crunchy bits

I am currently machining a spacer that has the voids around the bolts integrated into it as it makes me uneasy knowing that its just a single bolt holding the discs in place. What are you talking about you egg. You mean apart from the 5 bolts that pass through the disc hub and hold the wheel to the...

Re: My new hobby.....an E82 LMB 125i, now with 90% less crunchy bits

A quick update. Now everything has bedded in I can honestly say the braking power is significantly better than the OEM braking setup with a very nice linear feel. Probably the best £400 quid I have thrown at the car yet. I am currently machining a spacer that has the voids around the bolts integrate...

Re: My new hobby.....an E82 LMB 125i, now with 90% less crunchy bits

After suffering the sticky caliper problem that 1'ers seem to get,I went for some new stoppers.... https://i.imgur.com/VQaQ0H2.jpg https://i.imgur.com/PAmtiKH.jpg First impressions? Braking feel is so much smoother, not so much an improvement on actual braking distance but im still bedding the pads s...

Clutch feel is much improved, the pedal and the plate feel connected. Very much a standard thing to do.

You don't need any carriers (hangers) or hoses for M135i fronts, just the M135i discs and pads.
Does this apply to F2X calipers also?

I'm only replacing the hoses as they have done 160k now so it makes sense to me to just replace them while everything is off.

So my calipers have started binding on the front intermittently, what options do I have? As far as I can see I can: Replace both with stock calipers. Upgrade to 135i 4 pot calipers (My choice so far) Go all in on spangly stoppers. I am very interested in the 135i option for obvious reasons but what ...
