Re: Anyone swapped from an M140i to an M240i

I think is difficult to argue that the 2 series isn't a better looking car than the 1 series, particularly the M235/M240i's. I had an M135i and test drove a M235i as well at the time, for me no real difference in them handling wise (I am no driving god). Couple of things though is the 2 series isn'...

Also have a 225 square setup on the 140i, I use Hankook Icept tyres which I've used on a couple of cars and IMO are very underrated tyres.

Went all last season with no issues and traction was fine in all conditions.

Re: iPhone charging constantly cutting in/out

A solution I read somewhere was to have a wireless charging pad that fits in that compartment instead. I've never had this problem, but I recently moved to a wireless charging windscreen mount. Looks like a normal mount but the wireless charging is really good and nice to have the phone where you c...

Re: ZF throws shade at BMW "lifetime oil" claim

Burning 1.03 litres of petrol requires air - which has water in it. So not at all surprising to get 1 litre of water vapour out of the combustion process. It's not that air has water in it, water is a product of combustion - fuel has carbon and hydrogen and air has oxygen. Mix the two with a bang a...

Re: iPhone charging constantly cutting in/out

My missus had this exact issue when using a power supply that wasn't up to charging the iPhone - it keeps buzzing as it starts then stops and repeats, so I'd say it's definitely looking like that's your issue.

Re: buying my first bmw, HELP

What zone do you live in? Doesn't ULEZ only impact driving inside north and south circular? Also for clarity I thought euro6 diesels were ULEZ compliant, so basically any diesel from Sept 2015 onwards? I'd be getting an auto 110%. Can I just ask why you wouldn't use the public transport? If you're ...

Re: Making a 140/240 sound like the Supra

Wonder if there is a post on the Supra forum asking how to make it sound as reasonable and civilised as an M140i?! Or "boring"? Lol, I guess there's also an argument the sound suits the car, as does the Supra sound. I love the fact the M140i is more a sleeper and sometimes a really loud, popping M1...

Re: B58 in Supra has 10k oil changes

Why would they have such different requirements? Different companies, with different takes on warranties and support etc. Toyota can get more money out of people by doubling the service frequency might be one view. Do they still use the same oil as BMW - the LL oil or just 'normal' oil? If it's not...

£2088 fitted at Cotswold BMW
That's a great price, I'd jump at that if they were closer to me - I might have to look around as my local dealer quoted 2500 fitted which I can't justify.

Re: Is the M2 Comp really ok for a daily driver?

You won't ruin it. Modern engines and oils are far more tolerant of short runs. Agreed that its not good for the engine, but as long as it gets a decent run once a week the likelihood is that it will be fine. Modern oils may be better, but the laws of physics haven't changed last time I checked, an...

Re: Is the M2 Comp really ok for a daily driver?

The M2 engine would barely be warm after a 3 mile trip. Doing that every day would be a great way to ruin it TBH, but each to their own if you've paid for it. Maybe consider a push bike and save the petrol  Ruin it in what way? All engines wont thank you for short journey's because the oil wo...

Re: Next car won’t be a bmw

I found the sales experience great, weren't pushy like some dealers I went to but after they passed me the keys it went downhill. Unfortunately, that's not just BMW either. My mates experience with Audi was pretty much the same, sales were all over him, then they couldn't give a monkeys. As others ...

Re: Clear UV Window Tint?

As I mentioned above, the windscreen should block pretty much all UV due to the way it's constructed, the side only takes out UV B light though and UV A still gets through. Photochromatic lenses can react to UV but also normal visible light - some are sold specifically to use in the car so they stil...

Re: what are the M4's like to live with?

I think the Q youve got to ask yourself is whether youre actually going to use the M bit +1 I love the look of the M4 and I was going to go for it, but the more I looked into it and being realistic with myself, I couldn't justify the extra cost for the little I would actually use of the 'M' potenti...
