Re: OBD gauge alternative to P3/Awron

I wonder if this shows oil temp on the 140 as my P3 gauge doesn't, it did when I had it on the 135i so something changed with the newer model. It does. Oil temp shows up via OBD, as per my first post. Whereas hidden display oil would max out at 112 degrees Celsius, the metric from the OBD indicates...

I wouldn't bother, you may go forever and not have an issue, or you may be unlucky, in which case get it fixed, no different than a stone hitting the windscreen. Pot luck.
Or fit your own guard for £25 and not ever have to worry
I'm not worrying about it.

To be fair the test car in the videos is just that. We have no idea what set up the car is running.

Re: Front mud flaps

I had them on my M135i and they certainly helped to prevent paint chipping but decided to leave them off the 140 and applied some 3M film along the sills instead. Reason I didn't fit them is I think long term as I'm keeping the car moisture and rust could sit unnoticed.

Re: Dealership treatment of vehicles during service

I would go to the Police. Aren't the police busy with catching rapists, peadophiles, burglars, fraudsters, car thieves, embezzlers, drug dealers and MPs? I'd rather they focus on the above than be distracted by something that's marginally racist. I honesty can’t believe you posted that 😟 I'm sure t...

Re: How long before 3ltr M140 discontinued?

Maybe a mechanic can chime in, but I would be very surprised the auto would be anywhere near as cheap to repair, complicted by nature compared to the manual box regardless of a clutch. As I'm keeping the 140i it was part of my buying decision in part. I think reading threads on the gearbox whine and...

Issue with Autos will most likely be longevity which will put buyers off.
According to what empirical evidence?

Re: How long before 3ltr M140 discontinued?

Issue with Autos will most likely be longevity which will put buyers off. I don’t share your view.... I have a 3 series with 135k miles on it, and not a penny spent on the ZF auto box, which is still running sweet as a nut. I imagine a manual would have already had the clutch replaced and will be c...
