Noob saying hi with couple a questions too

Post by Drunkmunky » Wed Oct 09, 2019 12:11 pm

Morning all,
Just got my first bm ever, a 2010 125i coupe, love it so far, silky smooth delivery and surprisingly supple in the twisties too. Thought the m sport might be a bit hard, but all good 😁
Couple a questions though, I'm fitting the bmwp air filter for hopefully added induction noise (I realise it won't do anything on the power front), and hoping someone on here has a spare airbox lid I could have for some beer tokens, experiment with slots and holes?
And what's the differences regarding engine and drivetrain between the 125 and the 130? As I've seen the 130 has 40 odd more ponies under the bonnet? Is it just a remap? Or more involved.
Many thanks, and hi to all 👍👍

It's 'just' a remap, but not everyone understands the 130i DISA valve so make sure you're getting the full +40 bhp (and not +10 from a basic remap).

Evolve were the first people in the UK to get this right, but a few companies have cottoned-on now.

Thanks buddy, wasn't sure but I've searching on here a bit and thought that was probably the case 👍

If you’re with an hour and a half of Heathrow, I would highly recommend BW CHIPTUNE.

They did a remap on my 2010 125i and the improvements were impressive. It drove amazingly and rolling roaded 269 BHP.

Thanks buddy, but if evolve are good, they are much closer, I'm in the Midlands up near Coventry so I'll look at them first

Have a chat with Will Spooner at http://www.p-torque.co.uk/ too, if you want local.
