I got some insurance renewal quotes for my 2009 118d M Sport and received silly numbers back £600 / £700 etc. I've spoke to Chris Knott, Flux, Go Compare, Churchill and they're all too much

I paid £350 this past year. Any suggestions who I could try for a decent quote ?
I'm paying £240 with Tesco.

Tesco just quoted me £710 - 4 years no claims / 9000 miles per year / £4k valuation.

Firstly, I bought it!

123d E87 lci Msport suspension and interior, hifi system, adaptive headlights, Aerodinamick Pack, etc.

Put some dark progressive side blinkers on it.

Dynoed it. 215hp, 395Nm, as it had a light tune done.ImageImageImageImageImageImage

Nothing major today but it amazes me that two little pieces can potentially make such a difference. Going on Friday or Saturday with a couple of other things all being well :D

What I thought was a rocker cover gasket leaking, turned out to be a distorted cam cover.

New one was £300+Vat plus labour.
Ouch.

Custom instrument cluster and flocked binnacle

Finally got the whole shebang installed. Well, mostly. I haven't hooked up 12 V power to the USB Type-C power supply yet. It's a Samsung adaptive fast charger and the Type-C port was extracted from a USB Type-A to Type-C adapter and hard wired to the charger. I also added two M6 threaded bosses to either side of the instrument binnacle and flocked it all. My intent is to get a Ram Mount ball or some such thing on the RHS with the power port for a more secure cell phone mount (or whatever). LHS maybe I can mount something temporary like a scan gauge plugged in to the OBD port (again, or whatever).

I'm not completely happy with the evenness of the speedo/tach needle illumination. It's tough to get right. The trick is to get the paint patch that's there on the under side of the needle just the right balance of translucency. I'll fight that battle again some other day. I have more needles and stuff lying around to experiment on when I'm bored with all the other projects I have kicking around.

Well it hardly compares to some of the recent achievements in this thread but I added the Alcantara steering wheel insert and proper up/down paddle shifters from NRW to my auto e87. Very happy with the results.

After finally having the time to take her to some proper mechanics they kindly fitted a few parts for me. Not strictly what I've done granted but I'm hopeless with fiddly things.
First up was the cdv delete and ssk fitted. Both amazing improvements I should have done ages ago especially the shifter.
Next up fitted was a Moshimoto intake boot. Was a bit dubious of this but I thought I might as well. Nothing ventured and all that. Definitely an improvement in throttle response but not red lined it yet. Subtle change in intake noise noticed.
Finally fitted the new wheels as 2 previous garages refused for various reasons
Obligatory crap photos.

Apologies for the bottom one. That's the worst picture on this forum!
