E82 headlight swap

Post by Slickz_jm » Fri Feb 23, 2018 11:30 pm

Hi,
I’ve taken my bumper off to change my headlights.
I’ve seen the guide but this bit is a little unclear.
The headlights are loose but I’m unable to get it out of the support frame,

Any ideas?

You can loosen the headlight bracket to give a little more clearance.

E82 headlight swap

Post by Twenny » Sat Feb 24, 2018 8:23 am

As bjt has briefly said the headlight bracket can be loosened, there are two torx bits that you can take out in the pic below.

Image
The bottom one is a bit of a pain as it’s at an angle to reach it.

My piece of advice also is this.

Mark where that bracket sits before you remove the two torx screws otherwise your headlights could sit badly once you put bumper back on.

You could also measure off the car framework to the bottom of the old halogen light to get the correct height for the new depos.

I had the same problem and had quite a gap that needed sorting.

Thank you for this. I’ll make sure to measure it.
How did you access that bolt?
I tried last night but had no luck whatsoever

Yeah that should work but I’d be very wary of knuckles and slipping as you need more force pushing than rotational

Is it handy enough to get the bumper off ? I've tried looking online to see a headlight swap but not having much luck

Thank you, but it won’t let me see the photos because of third party blocking

FML.

So that’s it?

You’re giving up?

Well if I was you, and I couldn’t find any other guide, and I wanted this information and photos, you know what I would do?

UNBLOCK IT MAN!!!!

Again, a 3 second google search shows you how to unblock Photo bucket so you can see the 3rd party photos.
