130i Calipers

Post by BMWBrad » Mon Apr 09, 2018 5:45 pm

I’ve noticed my OSR Caliper is sticking on.
I’ve just had a quick search on the web and found that ECP are selling a Pagid Caliper for £149.99 ea.
I then found what is listed as the correct Caliper on autodoc for less than 1/3 of the price. Can somebody sanity check this, as it seems way to cheap to be correct?
https://m.autodoc.co.uk/trw/871386

TIA
Brad

Looks like they're for exchange? Ie you return the old one to them (likely refurbished then?)

Edit: maybe I'm wrong. Most appear for non performance brakes though, do they?

Yeah it looks like exchange, but so did the ones on ECP.
The part number matches what realoem shows with my VIN.

To good to be true?

The only thing I can see is a restriction for ATE brakes. Mines fitted with Textar pads all round, I just can’t workout why there’s such a price difference.
It’s not like TRW are unheard of?

That is the same as autodoc. The NSR is cheaper than the OSR, which typically is the one that I need.
I’ve took the plunge and ordered it anyway. I’ll be ordering the NSR too if it arrives correct at that price

Did you order these calipers Brad? Looking at refreshing my rear brakes soon and that seems like quite a saving.
Mine look like they have been in the sea for 11 years

I did, great service from autodoc and they fitted fine. You pay a surcharge so initially the calliper is more expensive than shown, however if you can be bothered to (which I can’t) hen return your old unit and they’ll reimburse you the surcharge fee
