Just been reading that and about to post on here but you beat me too it. Seems to be more of that issue with the main power cable to fusebox connection we've seen before.

Did they change something after Aug 2011 that means the recall isn’t required ?

Could it be that only E8x cars are affected as the F2x was only introduced in 2011 ?

BMW Recall

Post by JMC » Wed May 09, 2018 3:22 pm

Looks like BMW are issuing a recall of over 300k vehicles.

The 1 Series, 3 Series, Z4 and X1 petrol and diesel models made between March 2007 and August 2011 are being recalled.

Apparently the issue is that the cars can completely cut out when driving due to a "B+ battery connector issue". BMW will be sending out letters to those affected within 3 weeks.

Yipee!

My E87 had this modification in June last year when it was serviced as a quality enhancement. I’m guessing that the official recall is to mop up all those cars outside of main dealer servicing.

Mines an April 07 according to RealOEM. Guess I'll be getting a letter.

Does anyone know which cable this is? A couple of mine from the main battery box are pretty corroded.

Thanks. How would bmw send me a letter when I’ve never been to them - how would they have my details?

I received a letter in March 2017 for the positive battery cable recall on my previous car.. (E87 116i)

Had it changed in June last year.. wonder why it's popping up again :?
