To those of you that have had the work done, are you getting anything on paper from dealer to evidence it ?

It's Cooper Croydon. Been told this morning that car went back into workshop at 9am and "SHOULD" be ready for collection at 1pm. That means a job originally booked for 1.5hrs will have taken 7-8 hours work. Either they giving me a load of B/S or they encountered some problem or made a c**k-up doing mine.
That's one dealer to avoid!

To answer my own question, I got a £0 invoice for the work. Which at least was better than for my N47 Timing Chain QE when it took them 2-3 weeks to come up with some paperwork.

I wish I could but its my nearest dealer. And the next 3 dealers near me are also Cooper outlets. I did try one of those once and found them just as poor.

Hope you get it sorted.

Barons Watford didn't give me any paperwork when they did mine. I did ask but they said they don't provide it for recall work but it's on their system.

Yes I received paperwork which said ' Battery Cable QEP complete'. That doesn't mean it was done correctly; you can only determine that by doing some research and having a look yourself!

No, I asked and they wouldn't give me any - they just said that a record of the work was on their system. A bit annoying - it's not as though I have the technical knowledge to verify that the work was even done properly!

You could try putting your point to BMW customer service and see what response you get.

Got mine done yesterday and received paperwork. Then recieved an e-mail from the same dealer stating that my vehicle may need to come in for some recall work! Muppets.

Random question but how did you guys book yours in , I've been reserved the parts and "all " i had to do was book a time to do it, however i dont work anywhere near the dealers , and they wont let me book it in the night before and leave it there as it would be a lot easier for me!. As i must be present to "check" in with a service chap.

My dealer made me sign some paperwork when I dropped my car off so guess that's why they want you to 'check-in' and not just leave the car there at night. And they'll also want to scan your fob before going ahead too.

Mine went in earlier this week at Sytner Sheffield - very impressed with the service. Only complaint was that they washed it when I asked them not to.. but to be fair the inside was in dire need of a hoover and it looks great now

While it was in they sent me a video of the car up on the ramp and the technician said it was the nicest 130i he'd seen for a while, which was reassuring as I've only had the car a few months.

I took my wifes 2008 125i in for the recall work (haven't had a letter but called into the dealership to check) - I had the opposite experience - was offered complimentary wash / vac; agreed to it , was told it had been done, when my wife bought it home it had tyre black applied but hadn't been washed!

The recall work was done efficiently but the usual "safety check" revealed a couple of faults that they rang me about. Apparently they considered the rear indicators were a bit too "white" and the amber bulbs should be replaced on both sides. Would I like them to do the "work" for me at a cost of ............... wait for it ................ £120 !!!!!!!!!! I have a printed condition report with the relevant lights highlighted as "advisory" and a cost of £60.68 alongside each one!

After declining their kind offer I couldn't stop laughing when I hung up the phone, but on reflection anyone vulnerable or lacking in automotive know-how would have been ripped-off massively.
