Insurance help

Post by BabyBM » Thu Jun 14, 2018 8:04 am

Hi guys,

I know someone whose in the market and has seen a beautiful VO 1M coupe. Only issue at the moment, is the insurance frankly is ridiculous. Quotes above 4k in some instances. 37 yo, passed 20 years ago and they have a clean license.
Any recommendations on specialist insurance companies that are good with the 1M?

Thanks in advance.

I could probably insure it cheaper than that at 20 years of age .

Theres something seriously wrong there.

Id try sky or greenlight if they cover it.

Adrianflux have been good to me

AXA, Chris Knott, Adrian Fluxx

No way that much for that age

Adrian Flux wanted me to have owned my m2 for a year before covering me. I would expect the 1m would be the same.

Really thats unusual.

It seems the same with bmws they want you to own them a year and be insured a year before they insure you.

How the fook are you meant to insure it in the first instance

He tried Sky but they didn't even quote the figures as they weren't competitive.
The lady on the phone at Admiral was a laugh when she asked for the value of the car. She was shocked at the amount it being a '2011 1 series'.

Thanks for your help guys, will pass on the useful info.

it's obviously dependant on circumstances, but i Just did a quote based on my address for a 45k 1m coupe and it came out to £1200 on swiftcover, who are not cheap

I put in the same year of birth as your guy and same details as you specced, but then took the defaults for the rest

Worth trying LV as I'm paying £600 for my M2 with them

Wow, that's ridiculous . I'm 20 and mine is only 400 euros fully comp (Live in Spain) for a 120d 177hp
