08 E82 125i Brake options.

Post by B NEGATIVE » Fri Jul 13, 2018 2:29 pm

So my calipers have started binding on the front intermittently, what options do I have?

As far as I can see I can:

Replace both with stock calipers.

Upgrade to 135i 4 pot calipers (My choice so far)

Go all in on spangly stoppers.

I am very interested in the 135i option for obvious reasons but what else would I need for this? Discs obviously but what about hangers? Hoses will be done as a matter of course, they are time served now and i may as well get them done as the calipers are coming off.

You don't need any carriers (hangers) or hoses for M135i fronts, just the M135i discs and pads.

Does this apply to F2X calipers also?

I'm only replacing the hoses as they have done 160k now so it makes sense to me to just replace them while everything is off.

Yes, an M135i is an F Series, fronts bolt right on.

Possibly, they are quite fat. You may need a thin spacer.
