Handbrake shoe?

Post by tomjro » Tue Sep 18, 2018 11:01 am

Hey guys,

My 120d 2005 model is having issues with its handbrake, the fittings keep coming loose out of the metal plate they go through, it seems that the metal plate has corroded so much that the metal is just too soft to hold the fittings. I'm going to be buying new handbrake shoes soon.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this part is which I have pointed out in the picture below, as I need to get this replaced. (its the metal plate behind the brake shoe)

Cheers.

You're a genius! Thank you so much for this. I've spent days with no luck on finding the right part and now I've got the part number and name I need. Thank you so much for this link!

I might have a set at home if you wanted a good deal on them? They are a PITA to fit as you would have to pull the hub and bearing to install. This is why I still have them and they haven't been installed

The versions I have are for a E82 135i, check on RealOEM if its the same part number for all 1 series models.
Black sapphire metallic - E82 135i N55 - BMWP Exhaust - Suspension - Brakes - Carbon Mirrors - 18" 313 wheels with PS4's - Wagner Downpipe - Wagner Intercooler - LED Darklines

I have already gone and ordered some new ones from bmwautoparts.net
I would've thought that you only have to pull the hub, not the bearings, to install them?

I’m having the exact same issue - did you get it sorted out?
I have already ordered the plates for both sides, but would hate to pull the hub for a thing like this!
