M240i xDrive PCP Deals?

Post by Mooeeey »

Has anyone seen any decent PCP offer for the new M240?

Also curious what monthlies people who have placed will be paying.

For a car configured to £50k BMW online quote a discount of £1444 and then:

Based on a deposit of £1500 and a 48 month term at 10k miles pa.

47 x £692
GFV £19,558
APR 3.9%

You can generate quotes by configuring a car and then buy online. Go as far as selecting a dealer and it will generate the finance. You don't have to proceed past this point, so no risk of being pestered by dealers unless you choose to.

The best thing you can do is contact a few dealers and get a feel for the deals available, based on whats been posted in another thread if you dont qualify for the nhs/forces deal via park lane bmw then the current deals are very poor
Coast2coast were at 7% they are now at 4% discount
I ordered at a around 10% discount on a 50k car but that doesn’t seem likely anymore

If you can't get big discounts (it would seem you can't in the current market) the deals are always going to be "poor". There is no way of escaping the fact that you are paying for the depreciation over the term plus interest on the large amount being financed. Depreciation alone in the above example is £30k over 4 years.

The days of buying expensive cars on the cheap with minimal deposit are gone. Obviously if you have access to bigger discount through military and NHS schemes the numbers change, but still expensive unless you've saved for a bigger deposit.

True but depreciation is the same regardless of purchase method , only difference is interest charged .
As has been discussed previously cash or pcp makes no difference to the discounts currently available
No right or wrong way here just personal choices .
Ive done both cash and pcp many times in the past just depends what suits at the time .

Obviously depreciation is the same no matter how you buy or finance the car, but a much more expensive car such as the new M240i means 60% depreciation over 4 years is much more than the previously heavily discounted (+ BMW finance contributions) M240i). That's obvious but people still expect comparative PCP monthlies with little deposit as 2-3 years ago. I'm not suggesting that's the case with the OP.

Like you I've bought cars both ways and also financed via HP before PCP was invented.

Its a good tool to get a feel for the monthlies and various spec impact buts some of it has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

A basic car GFV 8k miles 48mths is £19,716.84. Add H&K and illuminated M accents and it drops to £19,398.36 bizarrely.

It is still a good tool as a guide though.

Absolutely mark , fact is no getting away from the fact that the car market has got very expensive , or to play devil’s advocate the level of discount we were used to was not sustainable.
Gone are the days you can get a m140 type car for 25k .
Shame as I’m fairly certain my income hasn’t gone up by the same margin

Thanks everyone. Just trying to get a feel for what's a reasonable price to pay at the moment.

Fully agree with this post. Add £150 - £200 pm onto the deal you got a couple of years ago, and you won't be far wrong.

With my spec I'm paying around 500 a month, which I think the build was about 51 on the configurator

Thats a bit meaningless without knowing the deposit and term.

Seems high? 8.5k over 48 months would be 177, so 677 pm?
