I was going to ask you what fuel I should use in my M135i?

The handbook says 98RON, but my mate runs his on regurgitated chip fat and has dynoed it at 406bhp (at the wheels). Please advise.

The reason for the "lock" or indeed any other Moderator action is a valid one and used on the two bike forums I'm on (moderator of one and if I do anything I have to justify what and why so its seen to be fair by all) and works well.
As already said, everyone one then knows why the lock happened rather than trying to post a reply and getting zilch.

Never said a "lock" wasn't valid. I asked why threads get shut down so quick, oh f*#k it I can't be arsed to explain again.....

Could I suggest more thread locking on the common subjects that keep coming up?

Write a load of sticky threads. Perhaps locked so they don't grow to 10's of pages. One post, then locked, sumerising subjects such as:

- what fuel to use (unleaded - even if your car is a diesel)
- running in advice
- runflat tyres
- oil to use
- auto vs manual (we all know auto is best)

It sometimes feels like deja vu reading the active topics sometimes. I think it's been a week between reading a RFT thread, or was it the auto vs manual debate?

2015 pre-LCI M135i auto. Adaptive lights, adaptive suspension, nav, HK, folding mirrors, drivers comfort, sun protection package.

You write them, and if they're any good we'll happily sticky them. :)

The mini forum I joined recently the moderators don't seem to give a fish at all. You'll have members begging to give a hand on the forum but no one is heard loool

We do occasionally merge threads together, but it's a PITA to do, especially on the mobile version of the site.

I really don't enjoy moderating at all. I'm damned if I act and damned if I don't. I just want to come on here and talk about cars with my mates, instead I spend half my time acting like a cross between a judge and a janitor. It's a lose-lose situation. :(

Here here couldn't agree more.

I do feel that it's calmed down considerably in the last year or so. No idea why lol

Sack the moderating off then mate. You don't owe the forum anything and you've been a top member on here for many years. I suspect you aren't being paid to do it....

Nope, nothing in it for me, apart from whingy PM's at three in the morning. "Your forum is too mean", "There's way too much banter on my thread", "You've got to control the trolls", "Where's my incorrectly listed For Sale thread gone", etc.

If you check who the moderators actually are, you'll see that only Marco is active.

Occasionally admin intervenes but other than that all moderators have disappeared.

Maybe time to deputise some long serving trusted members MP?

Not me, I said trusted lol
