Radiator leaking

Post by Slacky » Thu Jan 03, 2019 9:28 pm

Hey guys

My day couldn’t be getting any worse Image went over a speed bump earlier and there was a massive bang now when turning the wheel I hear a clunking/grinding noise. Rang the garage they said it’s more than likely a spring that’s gone so taking it down tomorrow morning.

Went out to move the van tonight and the engine coolant light was flashing red. Had a look and there’s coolant all over my drive. Topped it up with water and seems to be leaking near the bottom of the radiator. Is this an easy fix or is it a new radiator?

Any help will be appreciated

It's a new rad really.

You could try some 'K-Seal' or 'Rad Weld' if you're in a pinch, but it's a bit of a bodge.

Make sure it's not just water in there, or if it dips below freezing (like tonight) the whole engine could be in serious trouble. 50:50 mix of antifreeze coolant.
