Gingers

Image

Heater Matrix (Vauxhall Ownership makes me paranoid)

Image

Original Grill Chromes (the plastics were shot to bits)

Image

Traffic Master unit and switch (I really should just bin it)

Image

Spare hoses new

Image

Spare hose (used) Under that is a brand new autobox sump gasket

Image

The original wooden gearshift

Image

Boxed so if anyone wanted the part number of the leather one I fitted I could find it

Image

Rear Bumper insert from a removable towbar kit

Image

(so if I ever removed the towbar I could hide the small cut out I had to make in it)

Image

Various Trim fixing clips (New)

I've got a box going, once the parts start to overflow the box I have to fit them before buying any more

That's a good plan - for the LC when I took it off the road (needed a lot of work after being a daily for 6 years) I amassed 16 boxes of parts over 4 years...........

It then took me two years to fit most of them and finally get it back on the road

It's first run was 500 miles to Le Mans Classic 2014 - MOT'd the day before we left

Pistonheads Friday Service (Well it was a nice back drop)

Well I didn't say which weekend :D

So "Pusher Fan" replacement

Image

Strip down in progress

Image

Annoyingly there was one broken pin on one of the flappy vents (Superglue to the rescue)

Image

Question would be would the aftermarket part work

Image

Fire up the engine - AC on cold - fans on full

Hmmmm - no activity

Image

Condenser got warm and Yes - we have fan action

Image

While the bumper was off made sense to check out the headlight washer system

Used a bit of compressed air to back flush blow back to the joint I disconnected - zero fluid came out

So put the blow gun on the joint for a bit of forward flow and I heard a pop

Image

Ahhh that would be a nozzle launched into orbit - oh arse!!!!!!

It could not be found anywhere so I had a close look at the housing and I could see cracks around the nozzles - looked at the other side and it was the same - I've ordered two new jets.........

So I put the bumper back together and gave it a wash

Sunday was "Drive it Day" and a local company

http://www.asmotorsport.co.uk/

run by a friend was having a "low key" open day and so I'm taking the 740 - picking up Geoff and we can go to the open day together - Be nice for him to get a last ride out in the car - be my last drive in the car too as it's being collected Friday.

They make DB1 and DB2 replicas - like below

Image

However one of the attendees arrived in a helicopter and kicked a load of dust up from the field he landed in so Sunday afternoon was spent cleaning the car - again!!!

Image

I chuffing hate black cars - sooo damn needy!!!!

That moved on quickly, but no doubt as a result of all the effort you put into it! Better fill that spot on the driveway before the Mrs notices it's there

A hairdressers car - except this one has a 5.4 litre V8

I bought the cheapest non cat car with sensible (ish) miles and a relatively clean history that I have seen since Covid arrived
