Cabriolet 120d m sport radio upgrade

Post by Northern Guy » Tue Jul 03, 2018 8:03 pm

Hi first post here so any help would be fantastic.
I've just bought a 2012 120d cabriolet & want to fit an android head in. Can anyone tell me what I need to do this as eBay is a little confusing in what will fit the cabi.

I have considered doing this as well but there are so many options I decided to not bother.

I wanted a head unit that fitted flush like the OEM one but they all seemed to overhang a little bit.

Do you have any pics of yours?

This has been discussed LOTS times in this section alone. You could have used the search button or Googled...

Not mine as I can't find the pictures that I uploaded, but an example, top part of the fascia has been pushed too far in. Should be flush with the dash:

I know that you can get a double din head unit to fit and this is probably the route that i will take but I was looking at the all in one android units like this https://www.erisin.com/erisin-es3740b-7 ... _uploads=0

They always seem to be bigger than the space I have and overhang which I think looks a little unsightly.

They are rubbish. Stick to a known brand.

Don't say you weren't warned.

I have tried using the search functionality on the forum to try find the same information but it didnt come back with anything that surprised me as I thought it would have been discussed a few times when the E87 model came out.

Thanks, I know the kit you are on about and will likely get it from the company I buy the headunit off. Do you have any pictures of it all installed? How you finding the new stereo?
