I will give the main dealer a call tomorrow, then compare with Brystone who are a BMW specialist.

I'd like to go with specialists as opposed to MD just based off what I have heard from people in general.

If the difference in price is negligible then I will go MD if they have good reviews in Southampton.

On another note - I have been toying with the idea of doing a number of things to the car in the lead up to summer.

Here is the short list:

Option 1: get a fresh set of tyres all round the car (ideally PS4s or MPSS) & perhaps 2 pairs of spacers for the front and rear

Option 2: buy the Bilstein B12 damper kit, although I wanted to purchase the Eibach Motech spring kit - yet I've just noticed all of the Bilstein kits come with springs...so if I wanted to run Eibach Motech springs on the dampers I'd end up with a spare set of springs, correct?

Option 3: xHP & BM3 from Defined Coding along with some interior/exterior coding done.

Any suggestions/guidance greatly appreciated guys

P.S - I'm not actually desperate to do the xHP & BM3 tuning - I still would like to get used to the power I have, but I have the opportunity to spoil the car over the next few months, then I need to start saving for holiday lol.

So it'll be - treat the 1 forty now, and then it'll have to wait until next year

Regarding the service history, you should have had an oil service by now (2 years or up to 18k-ish) plus the brake fluid at three years old. Th next service is the biggy which most dealers want about £700 for although there is a value option at four years old.

I’d check the Indy can update the idrive records; not all can.it might make things awkward later down the line.

You could just buy the B8 dampers on their own which are the ones that come with the B12 kit.

This is why I was confused, the iDrive shows evidence of the brake fluid change...it doesn't list any evidence whatsoever for an oil change. But surely the oil was changed at least once in the first 3.5 years of the cars life...especially if the brake fluid has been done last year.

I'm about to call main dealer and Brystone to get an idea on prices and enquire with regards to iDrive updating.

BMW Eastleigh have quoted me £582 for a full/major service in October which doesn't sound unreasonable.

I am waiting to hear back from Brystone with a price for the same service - they have a key reader and will update my iDrive

That's a good price actually. My dealer said my big service would have been £600+

Doesn’t sound too bad.

I was quoted £423 for a major service on our E88 125i by Sytner when it was in for a recall recently.

They said it'd take an hour alone to do my spark plugs, I guess it's a lengthy process? I thought it was just a quick job.

Also - can anyone shed any light on how to identify the difference between an LCI and an LCI2?

I believe mine is an LCI but I'm unsure

I think spark plug 6 is a pain in the arse to get to at the back - plastic, sound proofing foam, and the front brace has to come off I think. Not at all difficult, but a bit of a faff.

Well I thought my dash appeared digital, but is it technically analogue behind the screen? I have read too many damn posts lol, I've forgotten what is what on mine, or what should be what.

I was also wondering: does anyone knows of any discount codes if I were to go for a BN Milltek catback system from any of the suppliers online? I mean, do any of them affiliate with babybmw, and offer discount at all?

Failing that - I'm on the prowl for either an MPE second hand / good condition, or a Milltek cat back system in good condition.

For now I think, in terms of treating the 1 forty - I will probably go for a set of PS4s all round. Then look into suspension later on
