5e20 fault code

Post by Bianco2564 » Wed Apr 25, 2018 10:23 pm

Newly acquired 2005 120d has 5e20 fault code so planning to buy the repair kit.
What do you actually get in this kit?

I borrowed a Delphi code reader kit and while scrolling through the live data page that the brake pressure was showing 200bar without my foot on the pedal and it didn't change when I did press the brakes.
This is all part of the failure mode?
Took it for a run and all wheel speeds were reading equally so hopefully they are ok for now.

Am I right in believing that when the Orange light of woe is on,this cuts the engine power?

Just rung a BMW dealer, gave them the reg and asked for a rebuild kit to be told they are £900.
Where does the £150 kit come from?

Absolute worst case (if BMW have discontinued the repair kits) try http://www.ecutesting.com/catalogue/bmw ... &model=613

Most rebuilds are £165, bit more palatable than £900!

To minimise the time for the car being off the road,I'm considering buying a used pump off the bay to get reconned then just swap over.
My pumps part number ends in 778 which doesnt appear to be available as a buy it now from ecutuning, only option is to rebuild my own.
On ecutuning website the part number 778 appears together with 779,are they compatible?
Or does it have to be the exact part number to work?
