E82 Indicator stalk

Post by djs85 » Sat May 19, 2018 9:59 pm

Good evening,

Unfortunately I've broken the indicator stalk, I've checked on realoem for the part number but I can't seem to find it, can anyone assist?

Also, is it an easy task to replace?

E82 120d MSport 2008 Coupe

Cheers
Dan

You wont find a single stalk, as they come with the whole switch unit.

Its the second Switch Unit Steering Column section, beloww the one for the repair kit on RealOEM.

Find the one for your options and look up compatible part numbers to replace the whole unit, or just get one and try to swap the indicator stalk onto your existing one.

Not a difficult swap - if you do the whole unit, then you'll have to remove the airbag, so dont forget to disconnect the battery first! Look up the How To on cruise control retrofit - replacing the switch unit is PART of that (and thats not too difficult in its entirity).

Quarry motors is a good place to start.
E87 118d, stock, plus PDC control unit drain, Parrot, debadged, Mothercare baby shades (but no babies), and occassionally a good layer of wax. Instantly forgettable, and thats the way I like it.

I've got some spare e82 stalks, do you have cruise control?

Pics below of what I have, I took these out of my E82 135i when doing a cruise control retro fit which requires different stalks, they will fit all E82/E90 coupe models( no rear wiper) with auto wipers but Without cruise control , drop me a pm if interested with your chassis number I can double check fitment for you, don't want much for them :).

I had a look see how if its possible to remove each arm from main body, it looks possible but not easy and would require complete removal anyhows to get to wiring connector, better to just replace complete unit.
