Sorry lads not 1 series but a quick question. Mini

Post by stevei » Wed Jun 27, 2018 10:12 am

The Mrs has a Mini Paceman with run flats.
The valve has corroded and is leaking so needs replacing.
Is it the full TPMS assembly that she needs and are they all the same?
Cheers

Don’t think they are all the same. You can buy a new valve and keep the sensor part and also a repair seal kit

Yes, BMW sell you a valve repair kit which is just the valve and valve stem; no need to replace the sensor. The repair kit is about £20, plus a fiver for your local fast-fit to fit it (as opposed to £80 for your BMW dealer to do it...)

The repair kit is apparently not BMW-specific, as the valves are an OEM part anyway, so your local fast-fit may well have a compatible repair kit for less than the £20 anyway - Kwik Fit certainly stock them. (Or so my local one told me when I took the BMW one in to get it fitted...)

Cheers lads.
I'll take it to Kwik Fit/Fast Fit this weekend.
Just got dust cap sealed on with thread tape on at the moment .
Yes it does have TPMS.
