Bilt Hamber Question

Post by YouthAVFC »

Will this Bilt Hamber Fallout remover be any good on my alloys? I usually buy the Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel Cleaner but I’m thinking of buying the fallout remover for fallout on the paint work and the alloys

Thanks Marco, so it’s a 2in1 product.

I have bug splats all over the front end. Months worth. Will the Fallout remover and a clay mot remove these or is it best I buy a separate bug and tar remover?

Korrosol is a ferric particle remover, doesn't do anything to bugs or tar.

Korrosol is Bilt Hamber's specific iron particle remover. Auto Wheel is a similar product but has more active degreaser due to the wheels being in contact with slightly different elements than the paintwork. Both will work perfectly on wheels. Having used most of their range I can vouch for the Bikt Hamber range as being top notch...detailed in a previous life! ;)

It's not half as bad as many fallout removers out there though.

Smells like eggy Battenberg Cake, much nicer than the IronX that I used to use, more effective too in my experience.

Autosmart Red 7 is an almost identical product to Bilt Hamber Autowheel which is a fallout remover based wheel cleaner. In fact I'm sure I read somewhere it is the same stuff just rebranded. Smells and works exactly the same. It's way better value too in the long run, I seemed to go through a litre of Korrosol in no time......

.....also, ironically, I'm an mech engineer at the factory that makes battenberg cake. When I read your comment I was changing a motor/gearbox on a packaging machine on that line  Weird

Auto smart and bilt are not re branded at all, the smell is the same due to common chemicals that most brands just in different strengths.

I think you misunderstand :) I have used loads of fallout removers. Iron X, Autoglym Magna, Autoglym Liquid Clay, Auto Finesse Iron Out, cheap crap AA bleeding wheels, Gyeon Iron....and more. Most of them smell very similar....absolutely terrible. Bilt Hamber, either Auto Wheel or Korrosol smell different, like there is an additive in there to take away the bad smell. Autosmart smells and looks absolutely identical, Marco's batternberg description is pretty good. I have used both, extensively, and can say I can't tell a difference. I'm not saying they are rebranded, just that I read on a detailing forum that they were. If they are not, I can't tell a difference between them.
