Top up washes question

Post by Justchris17 »

I recently spent over 4 hours last week cleaning, decontaminating, polishing and waxing my car. To give the car a top wash and top up of polish and wax would I need to do the whole process again?

I know I could simply snow foam, wash and dry but would that not wash away the wax and polish?

As long as you use PH neutral Snow Foam and car wash then your LSP, Last Stage Protection, should last a while.

Can always top up with a Quick Detailer spray after each wash.

Wax should hold up well for a few months unless you use a really strong shampoo\foam mix that starts to break it down. If you've done all the hard work previously you can usually get away with giving it a quick wax every month or two or use a quick detailer after every wash and make the full decontamination wash an annual thing.

I can back this up
use it after every wash and the beading effect when it rains looks great

Make sure you're diluting the Auto-Foam correctly, it's a bit of a faff to calculate your dilution rate but once you've done it you're sorted forever. I use it at about 1.5% strength and it works perfectly.

Likewise with Auto-Wash - it's massively concentrated so 5ml (1 teaspoon) is all you need in your wash bucket. Don't be tempted to use more than you need!

If you polish it again you'll remove any protection you've previously applied. Most waxes won't last very long, consider a sealant instead, even a cheap one.
